The latest addition to the beloved manga and anime series, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R, is the updated version of the 2013 original. Combining 3D fighting mechanics reminiscent of games like Tekken with the precision of Capcom's classic Heritage for the Future, this game is widely recognized as the most visually authentic adaptation of JoJo to date.
All-Star Battle R offers several improvements, including the introduction of new characters to its roster. The second season of downloadable content (DLC) is set to launch in the upcoming Fall, and the specific story arcs that each new character belongs to have already been revealed. Although nothing is confirmed at this time, it is clear that there are limited options for characters from these Parts.
Part 5 - Golden Wind
Almost every major character from Part 5 has been introduced, with only a few of the less popular villains and one long-awaited character left to be included.
Leone Abbacchio - The sole member of Giorno's Passione gang who has yet to be featured, Abbacchio possesses the Moody Blues Stand, which is known for being poorly suited for combat. However, his background as a former police officer could aid him in an unorthodox playstyle.
Cioccolata and Secco have proven that having duo characters is possible in the roster. These two antagonists form an inseparable pair, and their Stands, Green Day and Oasis, are some of the most peculiar in the series. Implementing them into the game would pose a challenge due to their uniqueness.
Notorious B.I.G., the Stand of the deceased Carne, is an automatic Stand that activates upon his death and relentlessly pursues its target. All-Star Battle R has demonstrated the potential for adding lone Stands to the roster, as seen with the inclusion of Foo Fighters.
Part 4 - Diamond is Unbreakable
While all the main characters have been included, there are still a few additional fringe options that could join in to make Part 4 the most extensively portrayed arc in the entire game.
Yuya Fungami - Originally an enemy but later becoming an ally to protagonist Josuke, Yuya's Stand ability, Highway Star, would need a remarkably imaginative interpretation to stay true to the original story.
Mikitaka Hazekura - Known for his ability to shape-shift and often mistaken for a Stand user, Mikitaka would add a touch of comic relief to the storyline.
Rats (Bug-Eaten/Not Bug-Eaten) - These rat Stand Users should not be underestimated, as they posed a serious threat to Josuke and Jotaro's lives with their powerful Ratt Stand ability.
Tonio Trussardi - Another funny side character from Part 4, Tonio's Pearl Jam Stand that works through his cooking would be tough to implement in gameplay.
Part 8 - JoJolion
Easily the most hyped slot of the upcoming DLC characters, fans of JoJo’s most recently completed arc are hoping to see some real representation of it.
Josuke Higashikata (Go Beyond) - The initial release of All-Star Battle coincided with the start of Part 8, featuring an outdated version of Josuke that no longer reflects the character's growth. Including his recent ultimate form, Go Beyond, in the game would bring it to a satisfying conclusion, completing a decade-long journey.
Yasuho Hirose - As the secondary protagonist of Part 8, Yasuho plays a crucial role in representing this part.
Tooru - Despite spoilers, numerous fans eagerly anticipate witnessing the ways in which the ultimate foe of Part 8 will employ his all-powerful Wonder of U Stand ability.
Joshu Higashikata - Regrettably for enthusiasts of Part 8's varied ensemble, it is highly probable that Joshu will secure his spot due to his previous appearance in Eyes of Heaven. Despite doubts stemming from his role as a stage hazard, Pesci was also included in the game despite similar circumstances.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
