Over a decade after The Office ended, Steve Carell and John Krasinski are teaming up for their new project, IF. Paramount Pictures recently shared a video showing the heartwarming reunion between the two actors. In the clip, Carell, 61, warmly embraces his former co-star as he walks in to greet him.
"Has it really been years?" Krasinski, who is 44, inquires. "Yes, it has been years," Carell replies.
The two friends playfully reenacted their reunion once more after Carell realized they were being recorded. "I need to do it again," Carell jokes, prompting Krasinski to do a spit take.
The fantasy film IF features actors from The Office, including Steve Carell, John Krasinski, and Emily Blunt. Directed by Krasinski, the movie tells the story of a young girl who meets abandoned imaginary friends. Ryan Reynolds and Matt Damon also star in the film, with Carell voicing one of the fantastical creatures named Blue.
Krasinski expressed his excitement for the movie, joking about the long-awaited Office reunion. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in December 2023, he praised Carell's talent, stating that he always had Carell in mind for the role of Blue while writing the script.

He mentioned that "Blue" is not there to defend anyone, but rather to offer big hugs and be lovable. Steve Carell was the perfect person for the job, according to him.
The reunion of the pair was not just about laughter. For Kransinki, there was a special meaning behind it. He shared with Total Film Magazine that he had a touching moment with Carell on the set of their new film. The director admitted to feeling nervous about the project, as it was a departure from his usual style.
