Jimmy Fallon provided fans with a preview of his upcoming Christmas song collaboration with Meghan Trainor.

On a recent episode of The Tonight Show on Monday, November 13, Fallon, 49, expressed his excitement about the track he co-wrote with Trainor, 29. “Today, I have some exciting news to share. As someone who adores the holiday season, I’ve always dreamt of working with Meghan Trainor. She is an extraordinary talent as both a performer and a songwriter.”

Fallon revealed that he initially conceived the concept of "wrapping gifts" for the song. Playfully addressing his audience, he sang and quipped, "Unfortunately, Meghan never responded."

Several weeks elapsed before Trainor finally responded to Fallon's lyrics. She informed him that she had altered both the title and the lyrics to "Wrap Me Up" instead of his suggested "Wrap it Up."

"Allow me to share something with you. She possesses incredible singing abilities. This song is incredibly catchy. This song is undeniably amazing. This song is truly remarkable. This song resonates with listeners," praised Fallon.

He proceeded to play a brief portion of the track for the audience, featuring Trainor singing, "Envelop me with your embrace and tightly hold me. Envelop me, it feels like Christmas magic." Prior to ending the song, Fallon offered a glimpse of his vocal rendition, singing, "I will fetch the ribbons."

The track’s cover photo featured cartoon versions of the two with Fallon wrapped up in paper and Trainor holding the roll.

“Wrap Me Up” drops on Friday, November 17.

Fallon has previously released another holiday song. In December 2021, he unveiled a music video titled "It Was A … (Masked Christmas)" which featured performances by Ariana Grande and Megan Thee Stallion.

In this song, the trio addressed the topics of receiving COVID-19 booster vaccines, the need to stay indoors and communicate through Zoom, and the experience of spending the holidays in solitude, among other things.

In December 2017, he released a new version of the song "Wonderful Christmastime" performed entirely a capella. This special cover featured The Roots, Paul McCartney, and the talented cast of the show Sing, which included Scarlett Johansson, Matthew McConaughey, Tori Kelly, and many others.

Apart from his Christmas repertoire, Fallon has also created amusing songs like "Ew" featuring Will.i.am in 2017 and his 2002 album, "Bathroom Wall."

In March 2023, he astonished both fans and the judges Niall Horan, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and Chance the Rapper when he participated in a blind audition on The Voice.

During his audition, he delivered a remarkable performance of Michael McDonald's "I Keep Forgetting' (Every Time You're Near)."

Clarkson, Horan, and Chance, aged 41, 30, and 30 respectively, swiftly spun their chairs and erupted into laughter upon seeing Fallon on the stage. In contrast, Shelton, aged 47, refrained from pushing the button to turn his seat until Fallon approached and did it for him.

"You've violated the rules!" Shelton scolded Fallon.

Horan then admitted he knew it was the TV host “right away,” while Chance said he thought it was McDonald, 71, singing.
