The Very Group, the parent company of brands like Very and Littlewoods, has elevated Jessica Myers to the executive team. She will now serve as the chief customer officer, a newly established position within the company.

In her new role, Myers will lead a unified effort to prioritize customer needs and satisfaction. This initiative aims to create a more customer-centric approach by bringing various teams together under a single "customer-focused centre of excellence."

In her new role, she will oversee marketing, creative, ecommerce, digital customer experience, and data and analytics.

She expressed her excitement about the new position, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the customer journey from marketing to conversion. She looks forward to collaborating with the dedicated team to deliver exceptional service to our customers.

Since becoming CMO in July 2022, Myers introduced the group's brand platform called 'Let's make it sparkle'. According to Kantar, the retailer's Christmas ad was rated as the second most persuasive festive ad in 2023. This success helped Very UK achieve a 3.4% increase in retail sales during the Christmas and Black Friday period.

During a speech at Advertising Week Europe on May 16, Myers emphasized the significance for marketers to base their strategy on the three Cs - company, customer, and competition.

When she started working at the company 18 months ago, one of the first things she did was to understand three key aspects. This involved learning about the company's operations and revenue streams, identifying its most important customers, and analyzing the competition.

She emphasized that grasping these three elements is crucial in standing out in a crowded market.

Myers shared that Very has 4.8 million customers in 10 different categories and works with over 2,000 brands. She mentioned, "The shopper data we have across all our channels is amazing."

In 2021, Myers was recognized as one of Our Website's Top 100 most effective marketers for her contributions at Metro Bank. She started at the company in 2019 as the first marketing director and expanded the team from five communications specialists to a group of 35 marketers.

She played a key role in developing Metro Bank’s brand strategy and launching its first consumer and business campaigns. These efforts significantly contributed to the company's growth and positioned it as a strong competitor against larger banks.

Before joining Metro Bank, Myers held the position of head of brand management at NatWest Group for almost five years. Her extensive career includes working at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Sydney, where she held various senior marketing positions. She eventually became the executive manager for brand management and advertising, a role she held for nearly five years.
