Jennifer Lopez is experimenting with her style.
Actress and singer, 54, made a bold fashion statement at the 2023 Elle Women in Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles on Tuesday, December 5. Accompanied by husband Ben Affleck, Lopez wore a distinct outfit consisting of a cropped silver chrome breastplate secured by thin shoulder straps, showcasing her bare back. She completed the look with a figure-hugging floor-length black skirt, long dangling earrings, a black clutch, and matching heels.
Lopez was once again stunning on the red carpet, with a full glam look including thick eyeliner, smokey eyeshadow, long lashes, and glossy lips, and her hair styled in a slicked-back bun. She was accompanied by Affleck, who looked dashing in a simple black suit, white collared shirt, and black tie. The pair posed affectionately in front of photographers before heading into the star-studded event.

Lopez was honored with the Icon Award during the ceremony. “I am truly honored to be here. It feels like a dream,” she shared, expressing her surprise at receiving her fifth icon award in her career (Previously, Lopez received the Icon Award at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, the 2015 Entertainment Tonight Awards, the 2020 Billboard Women in Music Awards, and the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards).
“Being an icon was the last thing on my list of aspirations as a little girl,” she said. Lopez then cited the dictionary definition of the word as “a representative symbol, or someone or something that is worthy of veneration,” and expressed her gratitude for the title.

Lopez acknowledged the presence of obstacles and noted that while things may not be ideal, there is value in seeing a diverse cast in a movie with leads of different races and genders. She also recognized the importance of taking ownership and initiative, emphasizing the need for actresses to produce and develop their own material rather than waiting for opportunities to be handed to them.
