Tatum entered the game with 9,984 career points, just 16 points away from reaching 10,000. He achieved this milestone in the second quarter, earning a free throw after making a spinning layup and getting fouled. At the age of 25 years and 246 days, Tatum becomes the 10th youngest player in NBA history to reach 10,000 career points. This breaks the previous record held by Antoine Walker, who achieved this feat at the age of 26 years and 131 days.

Tatum poured in 32 points against the Nets, the fourth time he has scored more than 30 points this season, as the Celtics extended their unbeaten streak.
After celebrating his star player's achievement, Coach Joe Mazzulla commended Tatums "open-mindedness" and strong work ethic.
"He consistently shows up to work, putting in the effort every single day. He truly dedicates his life to the sport, never skipping days or practices," stated Mazzulla, as mentioned on the Celtics website.

In other NBA news, the Orlando Magic secured a convincing victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, outscoring them 120-101. The stellar performances of Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero, who scored 26 and 25 points respectively, led the way for the Magic.
