Aware of the dangers posed by Jinyo's Engulfing Shadow technique, Shirogane relied solely on long-range attacks to avoid getting caught in close quarters combat. However, this tactic proved ineffective as Jinyo was able to neutralize Shirogane's Hellfire attack, which predominantly consisted of Haku.

With Jinyo closing in on him, Shirogane made a quick decision to throw Suzu away from him in order to keep her safe. To shield Shirogane from harm, Suzu attempted to utilize the origami technique she had learned from Garaku to divert Jinyo's attention, but her efforts proved futile.

Much to everyone's astonishment, Matsuri experienced a miraculous resurrection. Shirogane elaborated on how the Jinyo solely consumed the female manifestation of Haku within Matsuri, granting him a newfound lease on life and causing his reversion to his original male identity. Ultimately, Matsuri uncovered the Jinyo's most powerful attribute, which ultimately served as its sole vulnerability.

Using the technique passed down by his grandfather, Matsuri employed the Kazamaki-Style Exorcist Ninja Art: Calm Formation to still the surrounding air. This enabled him to pinpoint the location of the Engulfing Shadow's mouth. With precision, he directed a powerful gust of wind towards the jaws, ultimately vanquishing the menacing Jinyo.

Filled with joy upon reclaiming his true identity, Matsuri ventured towards a nearby waterfall for Takigyo. Unexpectedly, he abruptly transformed back into his female form, causing great concern for Suzu and Shirogane.
