According to a news release, the alligator that was rescued last week in Central Florida, with the top half of its jaw missing, is currently being cared for at an Orlando alligator park. The park, known as Gatorland, stated in a statement to CNN on Monday that the alligator is undergoing a comprehensive examination by a veterinarian and the dedicated park team is committed to its overall well-being.
The trapper who transported the alligator to Gatorland stated that the animal may have been injured by a boat propeller but managed to survive. Gatorland did not disclose any additional information about the alligator on Monday. However, in a recent Facebook post, the park mentioned that their staff will closely monitor the alligator in the coming days. Their main focus will be to ensure that the alligator eats in a stress-free environment so that it can enjoy its permanent residence in Alligator Paradise.
Gator had basically no chance of surviving
An expert at Gatorland said the injured alligator stood almost no chance of survival if it had been left in the wild.

In a Facebook video posted on Saturday, Savannah Boan, the crocodilian enrichment coordinator at Gatorland, stated that the injury appeared to be old, and as a result, the animal would be put in quarantine.
According to the park, the alligator's chances of survival in the wild were extremely slim due to the extent of its severe injury.
