Jamie-Lynn Sigler shared on her "MeSsy" podcast that she had a life-threatening experience following a trip to India.
Nearly a year ago, Sigler, 43, visited an ashram in India where she felt a profound sense of awakening and peace. However, upon returning home, she suffered a severe reaction to surgery, leading to sepsis and a near-death experience. This harrowing ordeal was something Sigler had not disclosed to anyone before.
Christina Applegate, the cohost, looked shocked when her friend admitted, "Oh, my God!"
Sigler shared that she was very close to death and 2023 became a year of grieving for her after the health scare.
She shared, "I had never felt more sad or low in my life. What I realized in India was that I couldn't run away from it. I had to face it head-on. I tried screaming into pillows, talking to friends, seeking professional help. I did things I had never done before, but it was necessary for my healing."
Sigler has always been open about her health challenges. In 2016, she bravely disclosed her battle with multiple sclerosis, a condition she had been living with for almost 15 years before going public.

During an appearance on Fox News, she mentioned, "I already had a big career." She also expressed how difficult it was for her to accept this reality.
Sigler shared with We that despite her struggles, she was determined that the disease would not impact her journey into motherhood.
Sigler shared in September 2023 that being human sometimes leads her to question if physical struggles affect her patience. This reflection on life impacts every aspect, she added. Despite this, she finds solace in the unwavering connection she shares with her children at bedtime, regardless of her physical limitations.
Opening up about her experiences in parenting, Sigler, who is a mother to Beau, 10, and Jack, 6, with her husband Cutter Dykstra, discussed the challenges she faces while managing her disease.
She told Us that discussing her chronic illness with her family is honest and real. It's different because she has to talk about it with both of them. She always encourages them to express their feelings about it because living with a chronic illness affects the whole family. It's a part of all of their lives.
