James Marsden's Mother Beam with Pride Over His Golden Globe Nomination

James Marsden's Golden Globe nomination fills his mother's heart with immeasurable pride A testament to their unwavering bond, her love shines brighter than any award

Who needs a Golden Globe victory when you have the unwavering love of a mother?

James Marsden, best known for his role in "Jury Duty," received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a television series at the Golden Globes for his work in the FreeVee show. Despite leaving the ceremony without a win, he took to his Instagram Stories the following day to share a heartfelt text message from his mother Kathleen.

"Tonight, my favorite moment was when I saw your picture up with the other 5 nominees. It felt surreal, like something I've seen countless times in my life, but now it's you up there on the TV screen. My son is one of the 6 chosen, and I can't stop smiling ❤️"

In the same Instagram Story, Marsden revealed that the sender of the message was his mother and expressed his love for her. Despite this, Marsden's nomination for a Golden Globe was unsuccessful as he lost to "Succession" star Matthew Macfadyen on Sunday. Other nominees in the category included Billy Crudup, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Alan Ruck, and Alexander Skarsgård.

The show "Jury Duty" premiered in April and chronicled the experience of Ronald Gladden, an unwitting jury member in California. Little did Gladden know, everyone else involved in the trial was an actor, making his jury service completely staged.

Gladden quickly gained fame for his genuine and compassionate handling of the bizarre scenarios presented by his fellow jurors, particularly the comical portrayal of Marsden, who played an exaggerated version of himself.

Marsden expressed in a June interview with the Hollywood Reporter, "It was incredibly enjoyable to play against the backdrop of one of the greatest equalizing experiences we have as Americans. At jury duty, nobody cares about who you are - you're just one of the rest of us."
