Jake Gyllenhaal is channelling the late Patrick Swayze in a first look at an exciting new movie. An Amazon Studios sizzle reel released on Thursday gave fans a glimpse of Gyllenhaal in "Road House," the remake of the 1989 action movie starring his "Donnie Darko" costar Swayze.
The short video depicts a shirtless Gyllenhaal, showcasing his impressive muscular physique in a boxing ring surrounded by enthusiastic spectators. The revamped movie centers around a ex-UFC fighter (portrayed by Gyllenhaal) who becomes a bouncer at a rowdy roadhouse in the Florida Keys. However, he quickly realizes that the tropical paradise is not as idyllic as it seems, as stated in a press release from the streaming service last year.
The Swayze film costarred Kelly Lynch, and in it, the "Ghost" actor played a bouncer who must tame outlaws at a wild Missouri nightspot called The Double Deuce.

Doug Liman, director of the film "Go", has cast Daniela Melchior and Lukas Gage from "White Lotus" in his latest movie. This is not the first time Gyllenhaal has shown off his toned physique for a film.
He unexpectedly showed up at UFC 285 in Las Vegas, Nevada in March while filming scenes for the movie. Gyllenhaal participated in a weigh-in with former UFC fighter Jay Hieron, who is also in "Road House," before filming a scene together.
Previously, Gyllenhaal played a boxer in the 2015 film "Southpaw."
The new "Road House" releases March 21 on Prime Video.
