Israel Conducts Precise and Targeted Operation at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza

The Israeli military claims to be conducting a focused and precise operation at Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital, as stated by the Israel Defense Forces

The Israel Defense Forces has stated that they are conducting a focused and deliberate mission within Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital. The hospital is currently providing shelter to numerous displaced individuals and doctors are working tirelessly to save premature infants. The operation is being executed in a particular section of the hospital with the objective of targeting Hamas. The IDF claims that Hamas has been persistently utilizing the Shifa hospital for military purposes.

Dr. Khaled Abu Samra, a physician at Al-Shifa, informed CNN that they received a 30-minute advance notice prior to the commencement of the Israeli operation on the premises. He mentioned that they were instructed to avoid the windows and balconies due to the proximity of armored vehicles near the entrance of the complex.

Israel has continuously asserted that there exists a command center for Hamas, a Palestinian militant group, beneath the hospital. However, both Hamas and hospital officials have denied these claims.

In response to Hamas terror attacks in Israel on October 7, Israel initiated a full-scale siege of the Gaza Strip and declared war against the Palestinian militant group. During this time, approximately 1,200 individuals lost their lives in Hamas attacks, and 240 people were taken hostage, with the majority still being held captive in Gaza.

Israeli attacks have resulted in the deaths of over 11,180 Palestinians, including 4,609 children and 3,100 women, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry in Ramallah. The ministry relies on medical sources in Gaza for this information. In the past few days, international pressure on the Israeli government has intensified due to reports of dire conditions at Gaza's hospitals, which are facing shortages of fuel, food, and water. United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres restated his plea for a ceasefire in Gaza on Tuesday, emphasizing the need for humanity in this situation.
