Irish chef breaks record, surpasses Nigeria's Hilda Baci in cooking marathon

Irish chef Alan Fisher sets a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, surpassing Nigeria's Hilda Effiong Bassey

Irish chef Alan Fisher has surpassed Nigeria's Hilda Effiong Bassey to claim the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, according to the GWR committee. Fisher achieved this remarkable feat by cooking for an impressive 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan. He broke the previous record set by Bassey, who is popularly known as Hilda Baci on social media, in May.

Basseys' cookathon, lasting an astounding 93 hours and 11 minutes, catapulted her to instant stardom in Nigeria.

The overwhelming popularity of her record-breaking feat caused the GWR website to crash for a staggering two days in June. This occurrence was attributed to the immense influx of traffic from her devoted fan base, as confirmed by the organization.
