UPDATE 11/17/23 at 3:33 p.m. ET:

Joe Burrow is out for the rest of the NFL season after a wrist injury that raised some eyebrows in the football world.

Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor revealed in a press conference on November 17 that Burrow suffered a severe injury the day before. Taylor speculated that the injury occurred during the play before his final one, resulting in a torn ligament in Burrow's wrist. The injury is anticipated to necessitate surgery, leading to Burrow's absence for the remainder of the season.

During his own press conference on Friday, Burrow acknowledged the situation by stating, "it is what it is."

"It's a challenging aspect of the sport," remarked the quarterback, acknowledging the sensation of his wrist audibly "snapping" as he delivered a remarkable touchdown pass in the Thursday Night Football match versus the Ravens.

Football fans and we are left confused by a deleted video of Joe Burrow. The NFL is currently conducting an investigation into the Cincinnati Bengals for their alleged failure to include the 26-year-old quarterback on the team's injury report for their game against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, November 16, as reported by ESPN.

Burrow's wrist injury came to light through a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, November 15. The now-removed clip showed Burrow wearing what seemed to be a cast on his right arm.

Despite the apparent injury, Burrow played in Thursday's game. However, he showed signs of discomfort after throwing a four-yard touchdown pass to running back Joe Mixon. Burrow exited the game in the second quarter and did not come back onto the field.

The Ravens emerged victorious over the Bengals with a score of 34-20. In a post-game press conference on Thursday, Coach Zac Taylor discussed Burrow's injury, stating that it appeared to be a sprained wrist. Taylor informed reporters that Burrow fell on his wrist early in the game and continued to feel the discomfort during a touchdown pass.

When asked whether it was possible Burrow was injured before the game, Taylor responded, “Not that I’m aware of.”

On November 16, 2023 in Baltimore, Joe Burrow warms up before the Bengals and Baltimore Ravens game. In regards to compliance with its injury report policy, the NFL consistently investigates these matters and treats violations seriously, as stated by ESPN. In the event that the NFL uncovers a compliance issue during their investigation, the Bengals may face penalties such as fines or potentially losing a draft pick.

Before the 2023 NFL season, Burrow caused worry when he got injured in July during training camp.

A local Cincinnati news outlet released video footage in which Burrow can be seen running across the field. Suddenly, he starts hopping on one foot, indicating a potential calf injury. He then limps towards the sidelines and subsequently falls to the ground, extending his leg to stretch it. Burrow's teammates rush to his aid, while the team's medical staff examines his leg.

Following the practice, Taylor verified that Burrow was indeed experiencing a calf problem.

"I believe many players feel some soreness after the initial day," the coach stated. "He was simply scrambling. This is the nature of football. Players get injured. It could be a minor issue, who knows? Several players today experienced soreness and had their practice time reduced. That's just a normal occurrence during training camp in football."

Burrow has faced numerous injuries since his rookie year in the NFL in 2020. Prior to the 2021 season, he underwent recovery for a torn ACL, and in 2022, he had to skip the early days of training camp due to a surgery on his ruptured appendix. As of now, Burrow has not publicly addressed his wrist injury or the ongoing NFL investigation.
