Gomez was confirmed to have passed away on Sunday, November 19. According to a spokesperson for the New York City Police Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, officers discovered her "unconscious" and "unresponsive" in her New York City apartment. Emergency medical services arrived and declared her deceased. There is currently no suspicion of any criminal activity.

Gomez has been working in the interior design industry for many years, starting at her mother's firm, Gomez Associates, in 2001. After almost twenty years of working together, Brooke established her own firm, Brooke Gomez Design, in 2019.
In a 2019 interview with Business of Home, Brooke expressed her admiration for her hardworking mother, Mariette Himes Gomez, who started her business shortly after Brooke's birth and has since seen significant growth and change. Brooke believed it was time for both of them to enter the next phase of their lives, and for her mother, who dedicated over 40 years to the business, to pursue other interests.

Brooke gained recognition for teaming up with Frankel, 53, on the second season of Bethenny Ever After, a Bravo spinoff show. During the season, Brooke took on the task of designing Frankel’s Tribeca loft. Beyond her work with The Real Housewives of New York City cast member, Brooke also undertook projects for Michael J. Fox and Sigourney Weaver. She was honored with the Rising Star Award.
"I appreciate and embrace the Gomez approach to living, but as a representative of the next generation, I strive to integrate more 21st century influences," Brooke shared on her website about her design approach. "However, I always return to the fundamentals that my mother instilled in me, blending the old with the new, the traditional with the contemporary. There's no need to reinvent the wheel, so I often jest to myself that my mother is always right. But a little pop of pink never hurts!"
