Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist shared insights into their relationship in their final interview together. The Golden Bachelor duo discussed the highs and lows of their romance on a March episode of the “Dear Shandy” podcast, shortly before announcing their separation following three months of marriage.

Gerry, 72, shared on the April 12 episode of Good Morning America that after several heartfelt conversations with Theresa, they both agreed that it was time to end their marriage. He mentioned that they have carefully examined their living situation and concluded that living apart would bring happiness to each of them.

Later that day, it was reported that Gerry had filed for divorce in his Indiana hometown, citing an "irretrievable breakdown" as the reason for their decision to split.

Per the couple's prenuptial agreement, Gerry and Theresa, who are both 70 years old, have agreed to return the wedding rings they exchanged during their televised wedding in January. Theresa shared on GMA, "I believe it's protocol to return this ring. It's a bit sad, but you know what, we will always have the memories."

First Impressions

Gerry shared with podcast cohosts Sharleen Joynt and Andy Levine that he thought Theresa made a great first impression when she appeared on Golden Bachelor in her birthday suit. However, Theresa confessed that she wasn't as self-assured during her limo entrance as she appeared to be.
