The news of its return was truly exciting. Season 3 pushed the storytelling to a whole new level, leaving everyone eager to find out what happens next. We've experienced the rollercoaster ride of thinking it was over, only to have it revive years later. So, no matter what lies ahead, we are prepared to wait patiently, as we have done before.
Will A Warrior Season 4 Happen?
Verfuss's hope for a Warrior season 4 is shared by Koji, who believes that the team has a good chance of returning for another chapter. However, Koji admits to having no certainty about their return. It is expected that filming won't commence until mid-2024 due to the cast's busy schedules, particularly Joe Taslim, also known as Sub-Zero in the new Mortal Kombat movies. Taslim was in the midst of production for Mortal Kombat 2, but it was halted due to ongoing strikes by SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America.
At present, it remains unknown whether the show will be renewed by Max. Warner Bros. Discovery, Max's parent company, has undergone various business model changes to compensate for the debt resulting from the studio merger. Despite the successful performance of Barbie, the studio has confirmed losses of approximately $500 million due to the strikes. In an effort to cut costs, many titles have been removed from both Max and HBO Max. It is uncertain whether the ongoing strikes will force WBD to cancel Warrior to avoid prolonged contractual obligations.
The fans of Warrior season 4 play a significant role in driving viewership towards the show. After the shift from Cinemax to HBO Max, it has become one of the most-streamed titles on the platform. Moreover, season 3 has received exceptional reviews, with a perfect approval rating of 100% from critics and an impressive 98% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
