Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have become a beloved Hollywood couple, with a contemporary Hollywood family to match.
This talented pair has created a blended family consisting of six individuals. Their paths originally crossed while working on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band in 1966, but it wasn't until they reunited while filming Swing Shift in 1983 that their love story truly began. At that time, Hawn was a 21-year-old mother to daughter Kate Hudson and son Oliver Hudson, whom she shares with her ex-husband Bill Hudson. Similarly, Kurt was a father to his son Boston Russell, whom he shares with his ex-wife Season Hubley. It was in 1986 that Hawn and Kurt welcomed their own son, Wyatt Russell, completing their family. Despite their incredible bond, the couple has chosen not to officially marry.
In 2019, Kate and Oliver reminisced about the initial introduction of their mom's partner, Kurt, to her children. On their "Sibling Revelry" podcast, the actress from Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery revealed, "Mom mentioned that it was during that moment she fell in love with Kurt. She brought him to the house when we were already asleep, and since we shared a room, he took the time to sit next to each of us, starting with you, and observed as you peacefully slept." Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's Blended Family: A Complete Guide
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are an iconic Hollywood love story — with a modern Hollywood family.
The actors have a blended family of six. They first met on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band in 1966 when Hawn was 21 and Russell was a teenager. At the time, Hawn was already a mother to daughter Kate Hudson and son Oliver Hudson from her previous marriage with Bill Hudson. Russell, on the other hand, had a son named Boston Russell from his previous marriage with Season Hubley. Although Hawn and Kurt never got married, they completed their family in 1986 with the birth of their son Wyatt Russell.
In 2019, Kate and Oliver reminisced about the first time their mother introduced Kurt to them. According to Kate, their mom fell in love with Kurt during that moment. She explained that when Kurt came to their house, they were already asleep and shared a room. Kurt sat down next to each of them, starting with Oliver, and watched them sleep before moving on.

Goldie Hawn
Before her relationship with Kurt, the actress from the movie "Overboard" was previously married to Gus Trinkonis from 1969 to 1976, and then to her second husband Bill from 1976 to 1982. Hawn and Bill became parents to son Oliver in 1976 and daughter Kate in 1979.
Over the years, Hawn and Kurt have been frequently asked why they haven't gotten married. In 2015, Hawn explained on Loose Women, "If you have independence, sufficient financial means, and a sense of independence that you enjoy, there is a psychological aspect to not being married as it grants you the freedom to make decisions either way." She further added, "Personally, I chose to remain unmarried. Kurt also made the same choice, and we are content with it."

Kurt Russell
While watching Hawn audition for The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, Kurt — then just a teenager — was instantly smitten.
"I found her incredibly appealing; she was impossible to overlook," he reminisced to Variety in March 2023. "There was just something about her radiating energy." Yet, it would take another 17 years for the two of them to finally come together. Initially, the Hateful Eight actor was legally bound to Hubley, having been married from 1979 to 1983, and they became parents to their son, Boston, in 1980.
"Kurt is remarkably intelligent, imaginative, and enjoys working together," Hawn expressed her admiration for her lifelong companion in her interview with Variety in March 2023.
The duo has appeared in numerous films together, such as their popular '80s comedy Overboard and the beloved holiday favorite The Christmas Chronicles and its follow-up. In these movies, Kurt takes on the role of Santa while Hawn shines as Mrs. Claus.

Oliver Hudson
Oliver embarked on a journey following the footsteps of his parents, venturing into the industry. It was during his time on Dawson's Creek from 2002 to 2003 that he soared to fame. As he continued to establish himself as an actor on television, taking on leading roles in Rules of Engagement, Nashville, Scream Queens, And Just Like That, and more, Oliver also focused on building his own family. He and his wife Erinn Bartlett, whom he has been happily married to since 2006, are proud parents to sons Wilder and Bodhi, as well as daughter Rio.

Kate Hudson
Following in the footsteps of her predecessors, Kate achieved remarkable fame and recognition in the entertainment industry. She earned an Academy Award for her unforgettable portrayal of the beloved music enthusiast, Penny Lane, in the 1990 film Almost Famous.
Beyond her impressive professional accomplishments, which encompass lead roles in highly acclaimed movies such as How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Bride Wars, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, and many others, Kate also experienced the joy of becoming a first-time parent. In 2004, she and her then-spouse Chris Robinson welcomed their son Ryder, bringing immense happiness to both her mother and stepfather who became grandparents for the first time.
After parting ways with the Black Crowes musician, with whom she had been married from 2000 to 2007, Kate embarked on a relationship with Matt Bellamy, the frontman of Muse. Together, they have a son named Bingham. (Kate and Bellamy ended their engagement in 2014, after three years of being together.) Later, Kate welcomed her third child, a daughter named Rani Rose, in 2019, with her fiancé Danny Fujikawa.

Boston Russell
Kurt's son is usually out of the spotlight, but he has made appearances at red carpet events to show support for his father and stepmother. In May 2017, Boston joined Kurt and Hawn in taking photos while they were honored with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Kate, on the other hand, vividly remembers the significant moment when she first met both Kurt and Boston. She describes it as a pivotal moment because she realized her mother was deeply in love with Kurt. At the time, she wondered if Kurt would become her stepfather, and meeting his son Boston made her question if they would become siblings. Dealing with these thoughts at a young age was overwhelming for her.

Wyatt Russell
Wyatt, Kurt and Hawn's only child together, has inherited the best traits from his famous parents and has also been drawn to the world of acting like the rest of his siblings. He has made a mark for himself through notable roles in movies like 22 Jump Street, Overlord, and The Woman in the Window, as well as in the Marvel miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the true crime series Under the Banner of Heaven.
Wyatt and his wife, Meredith Hagner, also expanded the Hawn-Hudson-Russell brood even further with the 2021 arrival of their son, Buddy.
