Inside the Relationship of Leighton Meester and Adam Brody: A Glimpse into Their 'Normal Couple' Dynamic

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody like to keep their romance down-to-earth.

“They really live their lives like a normal couple,” a source exclusively reveals in the latest issue of We.

Brody, 44, and Meester, 37, may have a down-to-earth approach to their relationship, but they are still considered a power couple in Hollywood. Recently, they were spotted enjoying a date night at the 2024 SAG Awards, where Brody's film American Fiction was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Alongside, Brody's co-stars Jeffrey Wright and Sterling K. Brown were also in the running for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, respectively.

Attending glamorous award shows together is not the only time Brody and Meester have crossed paths in their careers. In fact, the couple has had the opportunity to work together three times throughout their relationship.

The insider mentions that the duo enjoys supporting each other and feels happier and more at ease when they work together.

Meester and Brody started their relationship in 2013, having met a few years earlier. They first met in 2007 when they were introduced by Josh Schwartz during a lunch outing in Los Angeles. Schwartz had worked with Meester on Gossip Girl and with Brody on The O.C.

Brody shared on Anna Faris' "Unqualified" podcast in March 2021 that the entire cast of Gossip Girl was dining at Canter's Deli in Los Angeles. He mentioned that he practically lived at Canter's throughout his 20s. As he was leaving, Josh introduced everyone.

In 2011, the duo paired up on their first film together, The Oranges.

In March 2021, Brody remembered that he was already in a relationship when they worked on the movie. They initially met through mutual work friends and only started dating about a year after the movie when he was single.

After Brody and Meester started dating, they had the opportunity to work together again on the 2014 film Life Partners. That year, several sources confirmed that they had a private wedding ceremony in Northern California.

One year after getting married, Meester and Brody had their first child, a daughter named Arlo. In 2020, they added a son to their family, but his name has not been disclosed yet.

In December 2023, Meester shared with Us how she and Brody have kept their marriage strong and happy throughout the years.

There's no secret to our relationship. It's different for everyone," she shared exclusively with Us. "We just genuinely enjoy each other's company and get along really well."
