Oscar De La Hoya has had a successful career in boxing, but he has also faced many challenges as a father of six children.
The family tree of De La Hoya is quite intricate. He started dating Shanna Moakler in 1997, but his first child was born in 1998 to his ex-girlfriend Toni Alvarado. Around the same time, De La Hoya fathered another son, Devon, with Angelicque McQueen. The following year, De La Hoya and Moakler had a daughter named Atiana. McQueen shared in a 2009 interview with Fight Hype, the moment she discovered that De La Hoya had a child with Moakler.
"I didn't fully realize the significance or the issue until I was sitting on the bed, breastfeeding my son, and glanced at the TV. There was Oscar, emerging from the hospital with another woman and a baby girl," she disclosed. "I was taken aback and asked, 'Who's that?' It turned out to be Shanna [Moakler]."
Moakler and De La Hoya ended their engagement in 2000 after dating for four years. In 2004, Moakler moved on and married Travis Barker, her ex-husband. As they started building their own family, Barker took on the role of a father figure to Atiana, while De La Hoya was absent from his daughter's life in the early years. De La Hoya spoke candidly about his fears of fatherhood during a July 2022 episode of the "Allison Interviews" podcast.
"I attempted to be a full-time father for several years, and it was truly a remarkable experience," he admitted. "Raising a young daughter was a beautiful journey, but there came a moment where I questioned my own worthiness. I tried to convince myself that I didn't deserve this love, that it wasn't possible in my life due to the lack of love I received as a child."
While De La Hoya dedicated himself to his boxing career, he found love once again with Puerto Rican singer Millie Corretjer. The couple exchanged vows in 2005 and were blessed with three children, Oscar, Nina, and Victoria. However, their relationship ultimately ended in separation in 2016.

Oscar De La Hoya’s Family Guide: Meet His 6 Kids and Their Moms
Oscar De La Hoya's success in the boxing ring is well-known, but his journey as a father of six children has not been without its challenges.
The complexity of De La Hoya's family tree is evident. His relationship with Shanna Moakler began in 1997, but it was with his ex-girlfriend Toni Alvarado that he first experienced fatherhood in 1998 when their son, Jacon, was born. Just nine months later, another ex-girlfriend named Angelicque McQueen gave birth to their son, Devon. The following year, De La Hoya and Moakler welcomed their daughter, Atiana. In an interview with Fight Hype in 2009, McQueen shared her discovery of De La Hoya's child with Moakler.
I didn't fully grasp the significance or the issue until I found myself sitting on the bed, nursing my son, and glimpsing Oscar on the television with another woman leaving the hospital with a baby girl," she revealed. "I wondered, 'Who is she?' It turned out to be Shanna [Moakler]."
After being together for four years, Moakler and De La Hoya ended their engagement in 2000. In 2004, Moakler moved on and married her ex-husband, Travis Barker. As they started their own family, Barker took on a fatherly role for Atiana while De La Hoya was absent from his daughter's life in the early years. In a July 2022 episode of the "Allison Interviews" podcast, De La Hoya candidly discussed his apprehensions about being a father when he was younger.
"I did make an attempt to be a full-time father for a few years, and it was truly a beautiful experience," he admitted. "It was absolutely incredible to raise a young girl, but eventually, self-doubt crept in. I began questioning if I deserved this role. I tried to convince myself that I wasn't deserving of this love, that my own experiences of not receiving love as a child rendered love impossible in my own life."
While De La Hoya dedicated much of his attention to his boxing career, he found love once again with Puerto Rican singer Millie Corretjer. The couple, who exchanged vows in 2005, were blessed with three children, Oscar, Nina, and Victoria, before their final separation in 2016.

Atiana De La Hoya
Oscar's relationship with his oldest daughter has been the subject of media attention over the years. Despite not being present during her formative years, Oscar has expressed his appreciation to Barker for acting as a father figure to Atiana.
"Look, I didn't raise my kids, you know? Their mothers did. And I have to acknowledge their contributions," Oscar revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in July 2023. "I'm thankful that Barker was there for my daughter as a father figure. I understand my role and I'm grateful for Shanna's role as Atiana's mother. I know where I stand, you know? I am her father and I take pride in that. But I am genuinely grateful for what they have done, especially Barker. He has truly stepped up."
In addition to her half-siblings on her father's side, Atiana has maintained a strong bond with Barker. She also shares a close relationship with her half-siblings, Landon and Alabama, who were born to Barker and Moakler in 2003 and 2005 respectively. After Barker's separation from Moakler, he started a new relationship with Kourtney Kardashian. Atiana has developed a good connection not only with Barker but also with Kardashian's children, in addition to the reality star herself.
