Two individuals were hurt after a Southwest Airlines flight hit severe turbulence on Wednesday morning and had to make an emergency landing in Tampa, Florida, as per a spokesperson for Tampa International Airport.

The flight, Southwest Flight 4273, was en route from New Orleans to Orlando when the pilot declared an emergency due to the turbulent conditions on board the Boeing 737 aircraft, according to a statement from the airline.

The statement mentioned that the Captain declared an emergency, which meant they needed to deviate from the original flight plan. The Captain also requested paramedics to be on standby upon arrival to check for any potential injuries.
