Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny had a lackluster start at the box office, but there was some improvement on Monday, with the sequel achieving similar numbers to recent MCU titles. Directed by James Mangold, this film marks Harrison Ford's final portrayal of the intrepid archaeologist. Despite being the highly anticipated concluding chapter of a renowned franchise, the movie, which had a staggering production cost of $295 million, fell short of expectations in its opening days.
According to THR, there has been a slight improvement in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny's box office performance, thanks to a decently strong Monday that brought in $11.8 million. This is comparable to the box office numbers of MCU movies like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Thor: Love and Thunder. Despite this, the movie's total earnings over five days still remain disappointingly low, at $82.5 million.
More to come...
