Ian Ziering Assaulted by Bike Gang Members on New Year's Eve

Months after the New Year's Eve incident in Los Angeles, two suspects from a bike gang have been apprehended for the assault on Ian Ziering.

Two individuals, Jacob Esteban Hernandez and Angie Teresa Guizar, were arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department several months after the attack on Ian Ziering.

The police department released a statement on Tuesday, May 21, confirming that warrants were served to the two bike gang members for their involvement in the assault and vandalism of a motorist on Hollywood Boulevard. They were taken into custody in connection to a public fight that occurred in December 2023.

A victim was involved in a physical altercation with a group of four to five minibike gang members on the 6800 block of Hollywood Boulevard within the Hollywood Entertainment District. The confrontation initially started between the victim and one of the minibike riders regarding possible damage to his vehicle. Subsequently, three to four more minibike riders intervened and attacked the motorist.

According to their statement, one of the minibike riders was seen swinging an object at the victim, narrowly missing him. Additionally, it was mentioned that Ziering’s 13-year-old daughter was present during the altercation.

Good news! The victim and his child were not seriously hurt, according to the release.

Hernandez was arrested for "felony vandalism," while Guizar is charged with "assault with a deadly weapon." The case will be reviewed by the District Attorney's Office. Ziering, who is 60 years old, has not commented on the latest development in the case.

In a video captured by TMZ from the December 2023 incident, the actor was shown getting out of his car on Hollywood Boulevard. He then walked up to a group of bikers, apparently upset about his car being hit. Ziering pushed one of the individuals, which led to him being chased and pushed into a parked car.

In another video, Ziering was seen hugging his daughter Mia after the altercation. (He shares Mia and daughter Penna, 11, with ex-wife Erin Ludwig.)

Ziering finally spoke out about the incident that happened in January through a detailed post on social media. He shared on Instagram, "I had a frightening encounter yesterday with a group of people on mini bikes. When I was stuck in traffic, one of the riders aggressively approached my car, causing a tense situation. I got out of my car to check for any damage, but things quickly turned physical. I had to defend myself during the altercation."

Ziering reassured fans that he and his daughter were unharmed. He expressed relief that both of them were safe after the incident. However, he also expressed deep concern about the increasing boldness of groups disrupting public safety and peace. He highlighted the issue of hooliganism on the streets and the importance of effective law enforcement responses to such behavior. As a citizen and a parent, he found it unacceptable that groups could freely engage in behavior that causes fear and chaos, with what he felt was an insufficient response from authorities.

Ziering mentioned that he was hoping for decisive action from the police. He stated that he has always been an advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct. The incident further reinforced his belief in the importance of personal and community safety. He emphasized the need to address the underlying issues that lead to disruptive behavior and to ensure that streets are safe for everyone. Ziering urged city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent similar incidents in the future.

I want to express my gratitude to my family, friends, and fans for their support during this time. It is during tough times like these that the unity and strength of our community are truly important. Wishing everyone a happy new year!
