When the weather starts to cool down, there is a particular sport that celebrities are completely obsessed with: hockey! Celebrities like Carrie Underwood and Emily Ferguson from Bachelor Nation have a unique bond with this sport because their partners happen to be professional hockey players.
After tying the knot in 2010, Underwood has been a constant supporter of her husband, Mike Fisher, throughout his career that began in 1999. Her presence at his games, particularly after his transfer to the Nashville Predators in 2011, has become a regular occurrence.
In August 2017, when Fisher announced his retirement, the Grammy winner took to Instagram to express her bittersweet feelings. She wrote, "Captain @mfisher1212 I am going to miss watching you play and cheering you on with the rest of Smashville, but I am also excited to see what God has planned for you in this next chapter of your life."
Underwood expressed her admiration for Fisher's dedication and hard work over the years, applauding him for giving his all to his teammates and the game.
Ferguson expressed her admiration for her now-husband, William Karlsson, as he prepared for the 2019 season with the Las Vegas Knights.
"In anticipation of the return of hockey, I can't help but admire the love and passion these players have for the sport," she wrote alongside an Instagram photo of herself snuggled up to Karlsson at the arena in October of that year. "Their relentless hard work and unwavering commitment will surely yield rewards. My thoughts and prayers are with all the players and their families, wishing them a season filled with good health and happiness." (The couple later got married in July 2022.)
Kristin Cavallari has always been a devoted fan of the challenging game and recently expressed her affection for it by taking her "lil hockey fans" to a match in October 2021. The former Laguna Beach star, who is a mother to sons Camden and Jaxon and daughter Saylor with her estranged husband Jay Cutler, captured the family outing on her Instagram Story.
Reflecting on her own childhood experiences, Cavallari wrote, "I have fond memories of attending hockey games, and they hold a special place in my heart." She accompanied her caption with a photo of her children gazing up at the mascot of the Nashville team. She expressed her gratitude and joy in being able to share and create similar experiences with her own kids.
