The Sims 4 offers numerous expansion packs, with several dedicated to various animals. The Horse Ranch expansion pack introduced horses, mini goats, and mini sheep to the game. While these additions are enjoyable, they require significant effort to properly care for.

Fortunately, players can now employ a Ranch Hand in The Sims 4. This hired assistant will offer assistance by tending to the animals, aiding in gardening tasks, and fixing broken household items.

Sims may experience a sense of being overwhelmed when managing a farm, juggling the care of multiple animals, tending to plant watering and bug spraying, and dealing with frequent household equipment malfunctions. To alleviate this stress, players can hire a Ranch Hand in Chestnut Ridge by either using the Ranch Bulletin Board or selecting the option to hire one through the Home App on their Sim's phone in The Sims 4.

How Ranch Hands Work

Ranch Hands work from 7 AM to 7 PM every day of the week, including weekends. The household pays them 100 Simoleons per day, plus an additional 12 Simoleons per hour. This amounts to a total cost of 244 Simoleons per day for a Ranch Hand.

When a Ranch Hand visits a Sim's house, three chores are automatically assigned: taking care of crops, doing repairs, and caring for horses and other livestock. Players can manage these chores by interacting with the Ranch Hand and selecting the "Assign Chores" menu.

Ranch Hands will only perform tasks like collecting manure or harvesting plants when specifically instructed by the player. Once assigned, the items they gather will be stored in the Household Inventory tab in Build Mode.

Players can choose to terminate a Ranch Hand's employment by interacting with them directly or by using the Home App on their phone and selecting the appropriate option.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
