Hilarious Moment as 'Today' Hosts Jest About Sheinelle Jones's Belly Button Mystery

Join Craig Melvin, Al Roker, and Dylan Dreyer in a hilarious conversation as they speculate on whether their 'Today' cohost, Sheinelle Jones, has a belly button. The playful banter will leave you in stitches!

Sheinelle Jones had her Today cohosts laughing at the beginning of the show's third hour on Thursday, April 4.

After Craig Melvin struggled to introduce his cohosts without laughing, Al Roker revealed the reason why: "Craig is having a hard time because right before we went on air, we discovered that Sheinelle didn't have a belly button. But now she does."

Jones, who is 45 years old, playfully mentioned that the talk about her belly button has become like a popular story, saying, “People in Philly who are watching are like, ‘Oh yeah, we lived this with her.’”

Trying to hold back his laughter, Melvin, 44, then cheekily inquired, “So do you really have a belly button or not?” Jones chuckled and replied, “I do have one, but we had to make a little adjustment to it.”

Dylan Dreyer pointed out that the conversation was happening on the radio. She mentioned that her belly button changed after having twins, but it wasn't noticeable to others. She has a son named Kayin and twins named Clara and Uche Jr. with her husband, Uche Ojeh.

Melvin asked Jones if her belly button change was a medical issue, and if she was okay. Jones jokingly slapped Melvin and Roker with her notes. Everyone laughed, and Melvin asked Dreyer to start introducing the first topic of discussion.

Jones shared a funny story about injuring herself while running errands the day before the belly button discussion. In an Instagram video on Tuesday, April 2, she recounted how she fell on her face in New York City after going for a run with friends. She mentioned that she had been icing her knees in the days following the incident.

Sheinelle Jones from the 'Today' show shared a funny story about her "out of control bruises." She mentioned how she was rushing out of the Dollar Store with plastic and paper plates, then headed to Insomnia Cookies to grab some cookies for her friends. Unfortunately, she ended up falling on her face in the middle of the street, in front of everyone, after completing a marathon without any injuries.

After the fall, which caused a scrape on her chin, Jones reminded herself to "be more mindful of how I move."

Jones has been pulling double duty on Today this week. She filled in for Carson Daly on the first two hours of the show in addition to her usual hosting gig in the third hour. Last month, she took a short break from the NBC morning show to go on a spring break trip to Puerto Rico with her family. Laura Jarrett, cohost of Saturday Today, stepped in for Jones, as well as for Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, who were also on spring break.

Jones shared updates from her tropical vacation on Instagram. She posted clips and photos with the caption: "7 days in 7 seconds ☀️ We decided to escape the hustle and bustle of NYC for some quality family time under the sun. We were all crossing our fingers for warmer weather when we returned, but unfortunately, it was not meant to be. Oh well, we'll be back soon! ☀️"
