Hilarie Burton Takes a Stand for 'Sister' Sophia Bush Amid Explosive Cheating Allegations Involving Chad Michael Murray

Hilarie Burton is not here to entertain Erin Foster's allegations that Chad Michael Murray had an affair with Sophia Bush.

"Ooof. Cringe. I just landed from my red eye flight back home and received several messages about this headline. But let me set the record straight, as someone who was there first-hand? That's simply not true," Burton, 41, wrote on her Instagram Stories along with a screenshot of a news article about Foster's claims on Friday, October 20.

Burton expressed her frustration, stating, "We were told that you had ended your relationship, which is why our colleague was pursuing her. Now, they are trying to make my sister appear as a shameless promiscuous woman. And if she is involved with anyone, it is me!"

Foster, who is 41 years old, and Murray, who is 42, started dating in 2001, two years prior to Murray meeting Bush, who is 41, on the set of One Tree Hill in 2003. The former co-stars made their relationship public that same year.

Burton mentioned Foster in her post, expressing her willingness to discuss the rumors with her because she believes that Foster deserves the truth. She ended her statement by saying that numerous unknown sources are making unfounded allegations about her partner, and she has decided to step forward as a known source. She also mentioned that there are many negative voices on the internet, but she finds it amusing yet painful, as she is the one who knows the actual timeline of events.

During Foster's podcast show, titled "World's First Podcast," she openly accused Murray of cheating on her with Bush in a significant and obvious manner. Foster humorously stated that she has moved on from the situation, but just barely.

Murray and Bush — who split in 2005 after just five months of marriage — have not publicly commented on the Barely Famous alum’s allegations.

Bush’s recent love life has garnered media attention. The ex-Good Sam actress initiated divorce proceedings with her estranged spouse, Grant Hughes, in August following a 13-month marriage. According to court records obtained by us, the couple officially separated on June 27, a mere 16 days after celebrating their first year of marriage.

Despite the attention surrounding Bush, Burton, her best friend, stated that she will always protect Bush no matter what. Burton emphasized that as a strong and fearless person, Bush has a vulnerable side that she feels responsible for safeguarding. Their friendship is strong and enduring, and they plan to continue working together even in their older age.
