Heather Rae El Moussa Bids Farewell to 'Selling Sunset' After Season 7: Mixed Emotions

Heather Rae El Moussa reluctantly bids farewell to 'Selling Sunset' in its upcoming 7th season, expressing mixed emotions about her departure from the popular Netflix show

Heather Rae El Moussa recently revealed her departure from Selling Sunset, expressing mixed emotions about leaving the show after seven seasons. In an Instagram post on Friday, November 3, the 36-year-old shared her thoughts on the situation, acknowledging that everything happens as it's supposed to and that everyone has a plan. While it's bittersweet for her to no longer be a part of SS, Heather acknowledges that she wouldn't trade the experiences she had, whether they were good or bad.

Heather faced speculation from fans when she was not included in the season 7 promo poster with the rest of the Selling Sunset cast, including Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Amanza Smith, Emma Hernan, Chelsea Lazkani, Nicole Young, Jason Oppenheim, and Brett Oppenheim. She addressed this speculation on Instagram, stating, "Looks like I got pushed in the water ... it's a good thing I can swim. Congrats to my girls on S7! You may see me in a few episodes. ‍️."

Heather confirmed on Friday that she would be appearing in several scenes of the show, alongside Bre Tiesi and TikTok star Josh Richards, who will have a brief feature. "The unexpected trio you've always desired," she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.

Heather hinted at the forthcoming drama in the show, but mentioned her diminished involvement this time. She expressed, "Let the drama unfold. However, I choose not to be involved. Thank you, next."

Heather explains that some of the "drama" she mentioned seems to involve Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim's former girlfriend Marie-Lou Nurk. Jason and Marie-Lou, who is 25 years old, began dating in June 2022, six months after his split from Chrishell, who is 42.

Jason and Marie-Lou were in a relationship during the filming of season 7, however, they ended their relationship in May of this year.

Prior to the show's premiere on Friday, Marie-Lou subtly alluded to conflicts with Chrishell while expressing admiration for the Selling Sunset stars.

"I absolutely adore some of the cast members," she shared on her May Instagram Story. "Take Mary, for instance, she's incredibly sweet. Amanza never fails to make me laugh with her wit and intelligence. And Chelsea, well, she's both intelligent and hilarious. I genuinely cherish them. Nicole, on the other hand, possesses the most compassionate heart. We share a strong bond as good friends. As for the rest of the cast, they're alright. You'll have to tune in to season 7 to find out more."

Yet, when season 7 finally debuted, fans witnessed Marie-Lou accusing Chrishell of neglecting her.

"She barely acknowledged my presence whenever Jason was around, leaving me with just a simple 'hi.' It's quite disappointing," she voiced her frustration. "She completely disregarded me, displaying a mean girl attitude." In response, Chrishell advised her followers to watch the complete season before forming any judgment on the situation.

"Before passing judgement on this conversation, watch the entire interaction," she posted on Instagram, addressing criticism of her altercation with Marie-Lou that was circulating online. "I'm curious about your reactions once you've seen the entire thing."
