Hannah Waddingham stood her ground at the Olivier Awards. When a photographer at the event on April 14 told the 49-year-old actress to "show leg," she responded with a firm rebuttal.
In a video posted by a fan account on X (formerly known as Twitter) that day, she expressed, "Oh my god, you’d never say that to a man. Don’t be a dick otherwise I’ll move off. Don’t say ‘show me leg.’ No." Afterward, Waddingham walked away while still engaging in a heated exchange with the photographer.
In the comment section of the video, fans overwhelmingly sided with Waddingham.
One person commented, "She's right, they would never say 'show me some leg' to a man. Good for her for calling him out." Another added, "What a queen - just when I thought I couldn't love her more!"
Waddingham stunned in a lilac one-shoulder gown at the award ceremony. The custom-made dress by Marchesa was adorned with tiny crystals throughout.

At this year's Olivier Awards held at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the host was none other than the star of "Ted Lasso", Hannah Waddingham. Throughout the evening, she dazzled in a total of four different outfits. Along with a stunning lilac gown, Waddingham also rocked a navy blue sequin gown with spaghetti straps and a sweetheart neckline.
As the night progressed, she switched into a glamorous strapless silver gown that accentuated her waist and sparkled with reflective crystals.
Waddington's last outfit was a sleek black jumpsuit paired with black heels for the afterparty at the Natural History Museum.
During a Glamour interview in October 2023, Waddington shared that she has always spoken up against photographers who make her uncomfortable.
"When it comes to facing sexism, particularly in my line of work, I experienced it most during my time as a model in my twenties. Some male photographers would make misogynistic remarks to try to belittle me," she shared with the publication. "I would confront them right away, and they would often try to defend themselves, but I never backed down."
