Halle Bailey recently shared her experience with postpartum depression after giving birth to her son Halo three months ago. In a Snapchat video posted earlier this month, the 24-year-old singer opened up about the challenges of balancing motherhood with work while dealing with severe postpartum depression.

Bailey, who shares Halo with boyfriend DDG, talked about her experience as a new mom. She mentioned that it has been tough for her to be away from her baby for more than 30 minutes without feeling anxious.

Even with DDG's support, the actress found the transition to motherhood to be challenging.

"[DDG is] the best dad ever. He's always there. [I] couldn't have chosen a better partner to have a baby with," she said. "Halo is truly a miracle. He's flawless, he's lovely. Whenever I see him, I get emotional because he's so unique. The only struggle I've had is feeling comfortable in my own skin."

Bailey mentioned that she has felt like a whole new person since becoming a mother.

Looking in the mirror, I feel like I'm in a different body. I'm not sure of who I am," she shared, touching upon the stigma of postpartum depression. Before having a child, hearing about postpartum didn't really impact me. I didn't realize how serious it truly is.

She went on to describe her experience, comparing it to swimming in a sea of massive waves. It's a struggle to stay afloat, to catch your breath. There are moments of relief when you can breathe again, feeling beautiful and hopeful. But then there are moments of feeling overwhelmed, like you're drowning. It's not about the baby, it's about me and where I am right now.

The singer opened up about her experience after feeling upset by comments online. She mentioned that being on social media while dealing with postpartum was not a good idea. Today, she was particularly triggered by hurtful comments about her and her loved ones. She found it crazy that people would say such hurtful things.

Bailey usually tries to stay away from social media drama, but recently she found it harder to ignore. She shared, "Normally, if I see something hurtful, I keep quiet. I try to just let it go, swallow my pride, and wish the person well. But today was different. It made me realize the importance of raising awareness. You never know what someone, even a celebrity, is going through, especially a new parent."

Bailey and DDG welcomed their baby, Halo, in January, finally confirming the long-standing rumors about Bailey's pregnancy.

In an Instagram post, Bailey expressed her joy at becoming a mother, sharing a heartwarming photo of herself holding Halo's hand. She welcomed her son with open arms, declaring, "Welcome to the world, my little Halo. The world is eager to meet you!"

At the time, a source shared exclusively with us that the couple had their reasons for not sharing their baby news with the public. According to the insider, Halle mentioned to friends that they wanted to protect their baby and relationship from scrutiny. However, those around them found it all very strange, especially considering Halle's successful year in movies.
