Why The MCU Still Needs Pepper After Iron Man’s Death
Iron Man's death concluded the Infinity Saga in the MCU, as Marvel Studios embarks on the next chapter with the Multiverse Saga. Though tragic, Stark's demise was a fitting end for his character. By sacrificing himself for the greater good, despite leaving his family behind, he brilliantly completed his 11-year journey within the MCU. However, just because he is no longer alive, does not mean he should be absent from the franchise.
While Stark may be gone, his legacy lives on through his colleagues, War Machine and Ironheart, both of whom will lead their own projects in the near future. Nonetheless, Marvel Studios has been hesitant to include Stark's family in the Multiverse Saga. As mentioned earlier, Pepper and Morgan have not been seen since Avengers: Endgame. As Pepper now oversees Stark Industries, it is evident that she wields significant influence over the functioning of the world within the MCU. Failing to include her active involvement in current events is a betrayal of Iron Man's legacy.
Marvel Studios doesn't need to constantly have Pepper in their films; they don't even need to physically show her to utilize her character. Simply referencing her and Stark Industries during the ongoing crises in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Thanos' defeat should suffice, at least for the time being. Failing to do so gives the impression that she is indifferent to the world that her husband sacrificed his life to protect.
