The show is a prequel to The Terminal List, starring Chris Pratt, which follows Navy SEAL Lieutenant Commander James Reece as he gets caught up in a dangerous conspiracy upon returning home. Dark Wolf will feature Taylor Kitsch as Ben Edwards, Reece's former teammate, along with Jared Shaw, Tom Hopper, and Luke Hemsworth, and Pratt reprising his role as Reece.

According to Variety, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf has welcomed a new addition to the cast. Dar Salim has joined the show as a recurring guest star. In the series, he will portray Mohammed “Mo” Farooq, an Iraqi Special Operations Forces officer who is committed to defending his home country and has also served in the CIA Scorpions program.

Before joining the Terminal List cast, Salim had various roles in different genres on television and in movies. One of his notable movie roles was playing Ahmed alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in Guy Ritchie's 2023 film The Covenant. He also gained recognition for his role as Commander Khyan in Ridley Scott's epic Exodus: Gods and Kings.

In The Covenant, Salim portrayed Ahmed, an interpreter who assists in rescuing Master Sgt. John Kinley, played by Gyllenhaal, after he gets injured.

The Covenant is where he gained the most relevant experience for his role in Dark Wolf. He also has a lot of experience in action-oriented roles and has appeared in recurring roles on various major television shows. However, most of these shows were Danish and may not be familiar to English-speaking audiences, such as Gidseltagningen, Borgen, and Dicte.

One of his most well-known English-language roles was playing Qotho in season 1 of Game of Thrones. Qotho was one of Khal Drogo's bloodriders. It is yet to be seen if his role in The Terminal List: Dark Wolf will lead to more opportunities in English-language television. His upcoming role in Ritchie's Netflix show The Gentlemen will also showcase his talents to a wider audience.
