Grimes Reveals Shocking Endorsement for Taylor Swift as the Uniter-in-Chief

When it comes to that “blank space” on the voting ballot in 2024, Grimes wants you to write in one name: Taylor Swift.

Grimes, 35, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, October 17 to express her belief that Taylor Swift is the candidate capable of uniting the country. Responding to a comment from the GrimesAI account, Grimes emphasized not only the impact Swift could have on society and the environment as President but also the mutual care for each other's mental health. Grimes went on to speculate about a fictional scenario where a Trump versus Swift battle for presidency is taking place in another universe. The idea of Swift potentially running as the Republican candidate was also raised by one of her followers, receiving support from Grimes who deemed her unbeatable in that role.

Another follower of Grimes expressed their support for Swift's potential presidential candidacy, stating that it "actually isn't a bad idea. However, I'm not sure how beneficial it would be for her mental well-being." Grimes shared a similar sentiment as her AI account, remarking, "It's likely extremely unwise. It would probably not work," she tweeted.

However, there are some concerns regarding Grimes' proposed presidential campaign for Swift. Firstly, it should be noted that Swift would not be eligible to run for office until December 13, 2024. The Library of Congress specifies that in accordance with the Constitution, a presidential candidate must be a natural born citizen of the United States, have been a resident for 14 years, and be at least 35 years of age.

Grimes' "unbeatable" plan faces another issue as Swift's political alignment may not be Republican. Swift is a prominent supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and has openly expressed her pro-choice stance. In 2018, Swift endorsed political candidates for the first time, stating her support for Phil Bredesen for the Senate and Jim Cooper for the House of Representatives, as revealed in the 2020 Netflix documentary Miss Americana. Swift strongly opposed Marsha Blackburn, citing her disagreement with Blackburn's policies being misrepresented as "Tennessee Christian values."

Swift is set to embark on The Eras Tour in 2024, covering Tokyo, Australia, and various parts of Europe. The tour will make a comeback to North America in October 2024, including stops in Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, and Toronto.
