Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach are in the movie-making business — but they choose to keep their romance out of the limelight whenever possible.

Starting in 2010, Gerwig and Baumbach were initially colleagues while working together on the film Greenberg, where Gerwig portrayed the character Florence. Their upcoming collaboration on Barbie for 2023 is their most significant project thus far. Surprisingly, Baumbach was unaware that Gerwig had already committed them to write the film starring Margot Robbie. Gerwig shared this revelation during her guest appearance on Dua Lipa's "At Your Service" podcast in November 2022. She confessed that she hadn't discussed it with Baumbach beforehand, mentioning that she had a six-month-old baby when she agreed to the project.
