A recent leak suggests that Gotham Knights, developed by WB Games Montreal, may be getting a Nintendo Switch port. This game presents a unique storyline where Batman dies, leaving the responsibility of protecting Gotham City to his protégés: Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood. While it incorporated elements from the acclaimed Batman Arkham series and introduced new features, Gotham Knights received mixed reviews from gamers due to its emphasis on loot systems, a user interface resembling free-to-play mobile games, and somewhat clunky combat mechanics.
Initially released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, there are indications that WB Games Montreal is considering bringing this team-based superhero game to the Nintendo Switch. The ESRB's official website recently updated the Gotham Knights page to include the Switch as a potential platform, and a similar rating for a Switch port has appeared in Singapore. Fans speculate that the announcement for this hypothetical Switch version of Gotham Knights may be made soon, despite its absence from September's Nintendo Direct livestream.
Now, according to a report by Comicbook.com, the currently unconfirmed Nintendo Switch port of Gotham Knights has surfaced on a Korean ratings website. This marks the second time that the Nintendo Switch has been mentioned by a ratings website, following the earlier leak in Singapore regarding Gotham Knights. Typically, such ratings precede an official announcement, leading many fans to believe that WB Montreal is indeed working on a Switch version of Gotham Knights, even though no official confirmation has been made yet. The Korean website also assigned a rating of ages 15 and up to Gotham Knights due to its depiction of violence, occasional language, and the inclusion of alcohol and cigarette references.
If Gotham Knights does come to the Switch, one aspect to keep an eye on is how the game performs on Nintendo's older console. The game faced criticism for running at only 30 FPS on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, even after the cancellation of the PS4 and Xbox One versions due to technical issues. Concerns about the Switch's graphical capabilities have recently arisen with the release of Mortal Kombat 1, which received backlash for its Nintendo Switch port and numerous graphical problems.
