During the break between filming seasons 2 and 3 of Glee, the cast embarked on a music tour where fans missed out on some of the behind-the-scenes moments. Ashley Fink, who played Lauren Zizes on the show, reminisced about one particular incident during a podcast episode titled "And That's What You Really Missed." She shared that while on tour, clothing was always optional and towards the end of it, everyone was a bit tipsy. The choreographer Zach Woodlee had finally arrived, and Darren Criss had been jamming with the Warblers. In this slightly intoxicated state, they decided to play spin-the-bottle, displaying their youthful side despite not being fully grown-ups.
Fink, aged 36, observed that they all participated in the makeout game, resulting in everyone kissing each other. However, they were unaware that Cory Monteith, the star, was the initial carrier of the illness.
"He had a cold, and without realizing it, we all traveled across the country while dealing with a sinus infection!" Fink exclaimed. "We had to make an emergency landing [in England] to receive B-12 shots and antibiotics because we were extremely ill. It turns out we foolishly engaged in intermingling before our cross-country flight."
Jenna Ushkowitz completely forgot about their shared illness, while Kevin McHale was clueless about its source. "I had no idea that was the initial spread," confessed McHale, 35. "It happened on my birthday. Consider it my gift to all of you!"
McHale, known for his role as Artie Abrams on the hit series Glee, chose not to disclose the identity of the co-star with whom Monteith shared a kiss at the party. However, he did provide more insight into the poignant moment, expressing, "I vividly recall observing his expression, which was incredibly endearing. I knew I had to cherish this moment, as it was both amusing and heartwarming," he humorously added.
Tragically, Monteith passed away in July 2013 at the age of 31 due to an accidental overdose.
Glee made its debut on Fox in May 2009, featuring a group of misfit high school students who joined the unpopular glee club. The comedy series starred Ushkowitz, McHale, Fink, Monteith, Michele, Riley, Colfer, Salling, Rivera, Agron, and Morrison. Despite their success on Glee, the cast formed close friendships offscreen, some of which blossomed into romantic relationships. Michele and Monteith, in particular, found love and dated until his untimely death.

McHale fondly recalled the countless times we would engage in spin-the-bottle, emphasizing that it was always an inclusive version that disregarded gender distinctions. "I believe we even played it on the night of the Super Bowl commercial. It's like a addictive introduction, a passing trend!"
As for Fink, she added that the entire cast shared a lack of inhibitions, making their obsession with spin-the-bottle understandable. "Who else would we have the opportunity to kiss? We practically lived together," she quipped.
