The deaths of several beloved characters throughout the series have left fans in utter despair as the demon slayers persist in their fierce confrontation against the formidable demon king Muzan. Does Giyu Tomioka die at 25 in Demon Slayer?

The Demon Slayer world is filled with demons that target humans, as the title suggests. The narrative centers around Tanjirou Kamado and his sister Nekuzo, who, unfortunately, was turned into a demon by the primary antagonist of the series, Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji (referred to as the Michael Jackson of the Demon Slayer universe).
In their quest to restore Nezuko's humanity and eliminate demons from the world, they come across their first encounter with Giyu Tomioka, the water Hashira.
Hashira, being the most powerful demon slayers, frequently confront the most formidable demons. Consequently, many of them meet their untimely demise at a young age. This prompts the question: does Giyu Tomioka also perish at the age of 25? To accurately ascertain the answer, it is imperative to grasp the fundamental concepts behind demon slayer marks, as they heavily impact his circumstances.
What are Demon Slayer marks?

In the later part of the series, additional details regarding the slayers' mark come to light, initially manifesting in the Swordsmith Village Arc. Resembling birthmarks, these marks commonly appear on exposed areas of the skin and can be activated under specific circumstances.
Every mark possesses a distinct shape, seemingly influenced by the corresponding Breathing Styles. These marks bestow the slayers with heightened abilities, equipping them with the essential power surge required to combat the upper moons, also known as the 12 Kizuki, and Muzan.

The marks, known as the Curse of the Demon Slayer Mark, have some drawbacks. Besides the dangerous process of awakening it, it is revealed that all slayers with the mark will die before reaching 25. As Kokushibo, one of the most powerful kizuki, put it, activating the mark requires sacrificing lifespan in exchange for increased strength. However, becoming a demon seems to offer protection against the curse, as demonstrated by Kokushibo, who lived past 25 by accepting Muzan's blood.
During their battle, Muzan tries to entice Tanjurou into becoming a demon by mentioning this fact. Another exception is Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the sole demon slayer who lived past the age of 80. Unlike other slayers who acquire the mark later in life, Yoriichi was born with it, which could potentially explain why he was unaffected by the curse.

Taking into account the aforementioned facts, it can be concluded that the answer to that question is affirmative, although it is not directly affirmed in the manga.
In the Infinite Castle Arc, Giyu activates his mark while battling against the 3rd Upper Moon Akaza. As a result, it is predetermined that both Giyu and Sanemi, the only surviving hashira from the ultimate clash with the demons, are bound to meet their demise before reaching the age of 25.
The fans can find solace in the fact that the manga ends on a positive note. It portrays the slayers' reincarnations in a blissful modern world, devoid of demons, bringing about a happy ending. (Yay!)

As a passionate fan of Demon Slayer, I find the fate of Giyu Tomioka to be both tragic and intriguing. On the one hand, it is heartbreaking to see such a talented and dedicated swordsman succumb to the curse of the Demon Slayer Mark. On the other hand, his sacrifice highlights the incredible lengths that the Demon Slayers are willing to go to in order to protect humanity from the threat of demons.
Giyu's death is also a reminder of the harsh realities of the world of Demon Slayer. In this world, there is no guarantee of survival, even for the strongest and most skilled warriors. The fact that even the Hashira, the most elite demon slayers, are not immune to death, serves to emphasize the gravity of the threat posed by the demons.
Despite his untimely demise, Giyu Tomioka remains one of the most popular and beloved characters in Demon Slayer. His unwavering dedication to his duty, his unwavering loyalty to his friends, and his indomitable spirit have made him a fan favorite. His legacy will continue to inspire and motivate fans for years to come.
