The final arc of the manga and anime series Bleach, known as Bleach TYBW, was created by Tite Kubo and focuses on the conflict between the Quincy and the Soul Reapers. The Quincy, led by their king Yhwach, aim to overthrow the Soul King and establish a new world order, leading to invasions of both the Human World and the Soul Society.
Giselle Gewelle, also known as "The Zombie," is a fascinating and controversial character in Bleach TYBW. As a Quincy, she has the ability to turn anyone into her submissive zombie slave using her blood, and despite being presented as female, she is biologically male as well.
Role of Giselle in Bleach TYBW
In Bleach TYBW, Giselle made her debut during the Soul Society invasion by the Wandenreich, the Quincy army under Yhwach. She was part of a group of female Sternritter called the Bambies which included Bambietta Basterbine, Candice Catnipp, Liltotto Lamperd, and Meninas McAllon.
Giselle and the Bambies fought against Ichigo Kurosaki and his allies during the second invasion, where she revealed her ability to control the corpses of the Soul Reapers who had been killed. She also demonstrated her power to turn living people into zombies by forcing them to consume her blood.
After Bambietta's defeat by 7th Division captain Sajin Komamura, Giselle and the other Bambies provided support. Giselle then took it a step further by turning Bambietta into a zombie and using her as a weapon against the Soul Reapers. However, her actions did not go unnoticed as she was confronted by Yumichika Ayasegawa and Ikkaku Madarame, who suspected her motives and the potential danger of her blood.
After Yumichika severs Bambietta's arm, she retaliates by blasting Ikkaku and Yumichika away with Giselle's help. It is then revealed that Bambietta is already dead. Mayuri Kurotsuchi appears and expresses interest in Bambietta's power, prompting Giselle to inquire about his identity. The battle intensifies as Bambietta is ultimately defeated by Mayuri. Giselle summons multiple zombie Shinigami, but Mayuri counters by resurrecting four Arrancar.
Mayuri explains how he utilized blood samples from Gotei 13 members to develop drugs that manipulate blood composition in order to gain control of Giselle's zombies. Just as Mayuri bids farewell to Giselle, Kensei appears and stabs her through the heart.
Despite the attack, Giselle manages to escape and takes Bambietta to a cave made of debris, where she begins to consume her blood. When Bambietta tries to resist, Giselle violently beats her, insisting that she must return the blood to her.
The situation took a turn for the worse when Yhwach utilized Auswahlen (Holy Selection), a technique that strips the Sternritter of their powers and transfers them to him and a select few Quincy allies. This left Giselle, Liltotto, and Bazz-B feeling infuriated at being treated in such a manner, especially after witnessing Accutrone, another Sternritter who was with Giselle, falling victim to the devastating effects of the technique.
In the most recent episode of Bleach TYBW, Giselle remains alive, but her future is uncertain as they confront the Quincy king's anger. Fans will have to wait for the upcoming episodes of Bleach TYBW to see what happens to Giselle and the rest of the characters. These episodes will be available for streaming on Hulu, Netflix, and Disney+ in certain countries.
Editor's P/S
As a hard fan of Bleach TYBW, I am thrilled to delve into the intriguing character of Giselle Gewelle, also known as "The Zombie." Her unique abilities and complex motivations make her a captivating addition to the final arc of this epic manga and anime series. Giselle's power to turn anyone into her submissive zombie slave using her blood adds an element of horror and unpredictability to the battles in Bleach TYBW. Her ability to control the corpses of fallen Soul Reapers and turn living people into zombies further enhances her formidable presence on the battlefield.
Giselle's interactions with other characters, particularly her fellow Sternritter and the Soul Reapers, are equally intriguing. Her alliance with the Bambies, a group of female Sternritter, showcases her camaraderie and loyalty. However, her willingness to turn Bambietta into a zombie and use her as a weapon against the Soul Reapers reveals a darker side to her character. This raises questions about her true intentions and the extent to which she is willing to go to achieve her goals.
