The upcoming season 5 of Temptation Island will introduce changes that will surely cause drama, according to host Mark L. Walberg. He revealed that the four couples in the show are fully expressing themselves and getting into the experience. Walberg also teased that there will be unexpected twists and turns in the format that will bring excitement to the show.
Season 5 of the show will feature couples traveling to Hawaii to test the strength of their relationships against the allure of the show's single contestants. The introduction of the Temptation Light will add an extra level of drama, illuminating whenever a contestant succumbs to temptation. Host Mark Walberg revealed that while the light may not reveal specific details, it adds to the chaotic nature of the show by giving viewers a glimpse into the contestants' inner thoughts.

The host of Antiques Roadshow in the past, who shares two children with his wife, Robbi Morgan, initially had doubts about the changes in the format. However, he changed his mind after seeing them in action. He shared that the Temptation Light serves as a reminder for contestants while they are at their villa to stay aware of what is happening and to remain centered. He added that staying off-center can provide genuine and authentic answers.
According to Walberg, the Light changes the mood each time it goes off. He jokingly shared that some contestants lay on the couch just to watch if the Light is going on or off all night long. Eventually, the Light becomes a source of motivation for contestants to turn on their own Light, creating an interesting dynamic.
The role of singles in this season is set to expand significantly, with the ability to send letters to their desired partners, a privilege previously exclusive to couples. "We're giving singles more of a voice this season," the South Carolina native explained. "In the past, the focus was on the four couples, and the singles were just kind of there to support them. But this time around, we're delving deeper into their stories and giving them a chance to be more involved in the process."
The new contestants on the show are motivated by genuine reasons to find love, despite some of the single contestants who may still be as alluring as before. According to a statement made by one of the participants, everyone on the show is ultimately seeking a real and authentic connection, even those who may have a reputation for being players. Regardless of their exterior, these individuals are susceptible and uncertain, and crave the same things as everyone else.
The show's revamp may bring a fresh feel, but its staple of attractive bachelors and bachelorettes will remain unchanged. Host Mark Walberg quipped about the overwhelming number of chiseled abs in season 5, highlighting the contestants' physical appeal. However, he also acknowledged that despite their confident and composed demeanor, they are not immune to vulnerability and fear, as we all have an inner child that can be intimidated.
Season 5 of Temptation Island premieres Wednesday, June 14, on USA Network at 9 p.m. ET. Episodes will be available to stream next day on Peacock.
