George and Amal Clooney’s 6-year-old twins are developing an unconventional taste in music.
George, age 62, and Amal, age 45, revealed details about their children, Ella and Alexander, at the Albie Awards. This event is organized annually by the Clooney Foundation for Justice and took place at the New York Public Library on September 28. During the conversation, the couple discussed their kids' newfound passion for music. Amal specifically mentioned that George has been exploring heavy metal music.
George is not the sole fan in the family, it seems. "The children are into heavy metal," he jokingly mentioned. "They enjoy headbanging."
He further explained, "It's not purely heavy metal. It's just sufficiently heavy to allow them to bang their heads."
George playfully remarked that he and Amal cannot take credit for any musical skills their children may possess. "It's not like we have any musical talent," he chuckled. "We've completely ruined the gene pool for them."
The Albie Awards, named in tribute to Justice Albie Sachs, commend five brave individuals who have endangered their lives in the pursuit of justice.
The Albies, awarded by the Clooney Foundation for Justice, recognize courageous journalists, human rights advocates, and lawyers from the DRC, Ukraine, Iran, Syria, and Thailand. These individuals risk their lives to uphold justice. According to a statement on the foundation's official website, The Albies pay tribute to those who display unwavering commitment to human rights and deserve admiration and support.
During a recent statement, George emphasized the tendency to celebrate celebrity in today's world, acknowledging his own involvement in it. However, he also highlighted the importance of redirecting attention towards those who truly require it and can benefit from it.
He continued, "By shedding light on their situation, you can potentially protect them from imprisonment or even death, as they face these threats daily. The five individuals we are paying tribute to remain in constant danger. Even when they return home, the risk persists. Therefore, there couldn't be a more compelling motive for everyone to attend and show their respect."
The actor and Amal, a highly skilled attorney specializing in human rights, first crossed paths in Lake Como, Italy, in 2013. They tied the knot in 2014 and became parents of twins in 2017.
"We never discussed the topic of marriage during our dating period," George disclosed to CBS in November 2020. "I spontaneously proposed to her, and it took her quite a while to respond with a yes. I remained on one knee for approximately 20 minutes. Eventually, I humorously remarked, 'I think I might strain my hip.' We shared this anecdote with her parents, who misunderstood and asked if there was an issue with my hip."
Although George and Amal may appear as an ideal couple, they have invested considerable effort into their relationship. "Similar to any marriage, they have faced challenges and had to adjust to various situations," a source revealed to We in April 2021. "They have achieved this by finding common ground, setting boundaries, and demonstrating immense patience to maintain a strong relationship."

Prior to their philanthropic evening out, George and Amal savored a tranquil summer in Italy alongside their children. According to a trusted source who shared the details with Us magazine, the couple alternated in taking their kids to various activities and also took turns in preparing breakfast and lunch for them.
The twins, meanwhile, “take boat rides, do water sports, have a small group of friends in the area their age they have playdates with,” per the source.
