With Furina as the latest addition to Genshin Impact's playable Archon roster, players now have access to a versatile unit capable of fulfilling different roles within a team. Whether it's providing a boost to the entire team's performance through her Elemental Burst, contributing as a secondary DPS, or even taking on the role of a healer with the unique mechanics of her Elemental Skill, Furina offers a wide range of abilities that can greatly enhance team compositions. This adaptability allows for the creation of diverse teams that can benefit from the presence of a secondary DPS, even without the inclusion of a dedicated healer.

1. Furina + Neuvillette + Yae Miko + Zhongli

In general, it is recommended to have a primary DPS carry character in your team, focusing on characters whose talents have long durations that can work well with Furina. She particularly excels when paired with other Archon characters, several Fontaine characters with their HP drain and gain mechanics, and certain free-to-play friendly characters in Genshin Impact. Here are some effective Furina team compositions that demonstrate her compatibility with various Elemental reactions and a diverse range of characters who can synergize with her.

Genshin Impact: Optimal Furina Team Formation Guide

Furina: Sub-DPS, Buffer, Healer, Hydro-enabler

Neuvillette: Main-DPS, Hydro-enabler

Yae Miko: Sub-DPS, Electro-enabler

Zhongli: Defends and weakens enemies

Combining Furina and Neuvillette in a team offers excellent synergy that goes beyond their story connection. Their gameplay mechanics complement each other and go beyond just the Hydro resonance. Neuvillette's charged attack efficiently increases his Fanfare stacks by sacrificing his HP, which can be restored by collecting orbs with his Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst. Furina's summons also help in maintaining Neuvillette's 4-piece set bonus from the Marechaussee Hunter's artifact set. This synergy allows Neuvillette to stay active on the field for longer periods without the need for constant character swaps to refresh Furina or other off-field talents.

Yae Miko is an excellent character to pair with Furina, providing long-lasting off-field DPS and facilitating the Electro-Charged reaction for Neuvillette, which is perfect for his kit. Zhongli also offers exceptional shielding capabilities in this composition, which is invaluable since there isn't a dedicated healer. His abilities ensure uninterrupted charged attacks for Neuvillette and further weaken the enemies' Elemental RES. Overall, in this team composition, Furina will primarily remain in her Ousia Arkhe for sub-DPS, but may occasionally switch to Pneuma, especially when Zhongli and Yae Miko's HP approaches the 50% threshold. To speed up the accumulation of fanfare stacks, players may also want to consider Baizhu over Zhongli, as he can heal and help maintain Neuvillette's resistance to interruption.

2. Furina + Hu Tao + Yelan + Venti

Genshin Impact: Optimal Furina Team Formation Guide

Furina: Sub-DPS, Buffer, Healer, Hydro-enabler

Hu Tao: Main-DPS, Pyro-enabler

Yelan: Sub-DPS, Hydro-enabler

Venti excels in crowd control, debuffing, and providing energy to the team.

To build a strong team composition centered around triggering Vaporize with Fuhua, it is recommended to utilize Hu Tao and Xiangling. Hu Tao, although not a member of the Fontaine character group, has the advantage of gaining and draining HP with her abilities, allowing her to quickly accumulate Fanfare stacks, much like Neuvillette. Additionally, both Hu Tao and Xiangling benefit from HP scaling, making the Hydro Resonance effect extremely valuable for the entire team composition.

To round out the team, consider pairing Furina with the Anemo Archon Venti. Venti's remarkable support abilities, such as crowd control, debuffing, and energy particle generation, make him an excellent candidate as a battery character to ensure Yelan and Furina's Bursts have consistent uptime. It's important to note, however, that Venti's crowd control skills may not work seamlessly with Hu Tao when facing lighter enemies, as Hu Tao may have difficulty landing hits on enemies suspended in the air. The effectiveness of this choice may vary depending on the specific types of enemies encountered. Alternatively, characters like Kazuha, Sucrose, or Lynette could be considered as replacements for Venti.

3. Furina + Wriothesley + Diona + Kazuha

Genshin Impact: Optimal Furina Team Formation Guide

Furina: Sub-DPS, Buffer, Healer, Hydro-enabler

Wriothesley: Main-DPS, Cryo-enabler

Diona: Shielder, Healer, Battery

Kazuha excels at crowd control and can function as both a buffer and a debuffer.

Furina and Wriothesley have great synergy in a Perma-Freeze team composition. In this setup, Furina takes on the responsibility of maintaining the Hydro application herself. She primarily stays in her Ousia Arkhe and consistently applies Hydro to enemies with her summoned allies. Diona fulfills the role of dedicated healer in this team composition, reducing Furina's need to switch to Pneuma for healing. Additionally, Diona provides shielding and acts as a battery for Kazuha and Furina's Elemental Bursts, especially. Alternatively, Charlotte, particularly with her C1, is also a viable option.

It's worth mentioning that while Wriothesley might not excel against all types of opponents, especially when facing large groups of weak enemies, incorporating a support character like Kazuha into the team can be highly advantageous for crowd control against grouped enemies. This team composition proves particularly effective when dealing with boss enemies. Even without crowd control, Kazuha can bring substantial benefits to the team through the buffing of Elemental DMG, similar to Furina, and the debuffing of enemies using the Viridescent Venerer artifact set. All in all, this team demonstrates strong synergy among its characters for a Freeze team composition. Players who do not possess Wriothesley might also consider employing Ayaka. However, they would have to sacrifice the benefits of self-HP gain and drain mechanics in the process.

4. Furina + Cyno + Raiden Shogun + Nahida

Genshin Impact: Optimal Furina Team Formation Guide

Furina: Sub-DPS, Buffer, Healer, Hydro-enabler

Cyno: Main-DPS, Electro-enabler

Raiden Shogun: Sub-DPS, Electro-enabler, Battery, Buffer

Nahida excels as a dendro-enabler, buffer, and debuffer. When combined with the Archons Raiden Shogun and Furina, a Hyperbloom team becomes a powerful choice. The synergy between Raiden Shogun and Nahida is already strong, as they can create Hyperbloom reactions with a Hydro character. Furina seamlessly integrates into this team by facilitating elemental applications for the reaction. Additionally, both Nahida and Raiden Shogun provide team buffs, with Raiden Shogun also serving as a battery character. Equipping Nahida with the Deepwood Memories artifact set can potentially turn her into an effective debuffer.

Cyno serves as the main source of damage in this team composition, but it is possible to replace him with another DPS character who can enhance the Hyperbloom reaction. If players have unlocked Furina's sixth constellation, they can even make her the main source of damage, allowing for another Hydro or Dendro character of their choice to fill a slot, with Furina becoming the team's hyper carry.

5. Furina + Fischl + Sucrose + Yaoyao

Genshin Impact: Optimal Furina Team Formation Guide

Furina: Sub-DPS, Buffer, Healer, Hydro-enabler

Fischl: Sub-DPS, Electro-enabler, Battery

Sucrose: Crowd control, buffer, debuffer, battery

Yaoyao, the dendro-enabler and healer, is a valuable addition to teams in Genshin Impact. Although Furina is not a free-to-play character, she can synergize well with other F2P characters that players have acquired during their adventures in Teyvat. One effective team composition involves pairing Fischl, Sucrose, and Yaoyao with Furina, with the goal of maximizing the advantages of the Hyperbloom reaction.

Fischl in this composition fulfills a role similar to that of Yae Miko. However, her build can be customized to offer more utility on the field or to support Furina, depending on the player's preference. Sucrose also plays a comparable role to Kazuha, providing the team with various buffs, crowd control, and the potential for energy generation, much like Fischl, especially if players have access to some of Sucrose's constellations. Yaoyao acts as the dedicated healer for the team while also providing off-field Dendro application. With Yaoyao's exceptional healing abilities, Furina can primarily remain in Ousia Arkhe, as Yaoyao effortlessly ensures healing for the entire team.
