Game Over for P: Hello Kitty Island Adventure Takes the Crown at Apple App Store Awards 2023

Earlier this month, Apple announced the winners of the 2023 App Store Awards, following the nominees reveal. Fourteen winners were chosen across 10 categories, including some of the best game releases of 2023.

Neowiz's action-RPG "Lies of P--" was honored with the Mac Game of the Year award. The game places players in the role of Pinocchio in a Victorian world reminiscent of Bloodborne. It triumphed over strong competition from fellow nominees Elex II and Return To Monkey Island.

Honkai: Star Rail, which was the winner of multiple Google Play Best Of 2023 awards, has been chosen as the iPhone Game of the Year. The sci-fi MMO from Hoyoverse was selected over Vampire Survivors and Afterplace.

For the Apple Arcade Game of the Year award, Hello Kitty: Island Adventure, a life sim featuring characters from Sanrio's history, took home the honor. Sunblink's creation beat out Cityscapes and Stitch for the award.

Witch Beam's Unpacking and Fein Games's Finding Hannah were chosen for the Cultural Impact award, which honors games and apps that promote new ways of connecting and celebrating the diversity and wonder of the world. Endling: Extinction Is Forever was also nominated for the award. The complete list of Apple App Store Awards for 2023 is available below. The upcoming Game Awards on December 7 in Los Angeles will feature games like Baldur's Gate 3, Alan Wake II, and The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, which have received the most nominations.
