Highlights

Intel Arc A580 GPU models are set to be released soon, with minor changes in specifications compared to the original announcement.

Nvidia is said to be working on a lower-performing version of the RTX 3050 GPU, which will be based on the GA107-325 variant.

The Intel Arc A580 is in direct competition with Nvidia's RTX 3050 and AMD's RX 6600, although the pricing for the A580 has not yet been disclosed.

Online sightings indicate that the release of Intel Arc A580 GPU models, which were initially announced last year, may be imminent. Recent reports suggest that Intel has made some slight changes to the specifications compared to the original announcement. In contrast, Nvidia is reportedly planning to release a slightly less powerful variant of the RTX 3050 GPU, based on the GA107-325 GPU variant, which differs from last year's RTX 3050.

The Intel Arc series of graphics cards first piqued interest in March 2022. In June, the entry-level Arc A380 was launched, and in September, the company unveiled its lineup of Arc graphics cards, featuring the A770/A750, A380, and the A580 models. While the A770/A750 and A380 cards were made available for purchase after the announcement, the A580 remained elusive. Subsequently, Intel introduced Arc mobile GPUs to its lineup in the following months.

According to a recent report, two customized versions of the Arc A580 GPU are possibly in development. An image shared on Twitter by leaker '@momomo_us' provides details about the A580 GPU's key specifications, while another post suggests that only ASRock and Sparkle will manufacture Arc A580 GPUs. The leaked slide reveals that the Intel Arc A580 features 24 Xe Cores, 24 Ray Tracing units, and 8GB VRAM, which coincides with the specifications previously disclosed by Intel. However, there is a slight difference in the TBP, as the slide mentions 185W instead of the originally stated 175W.

Although the 10W discrepancy may not be significant, Intel asserts that the A580 is a competitor to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 and AMD Radeon RX 6600. The pricing for the A580 is currently unknown, but as a point of reference, the RTX 3050 starts at $200, and the RX 6600 can be purchased for $210 (at the time of writing). Both the RTX 3050 and RX 6600 are equipped with 8GB of VRAM.
