Love Island UK is a reality TV series that helps British singles find their ideal partners, often leading to parenthood. Winners of season 2, Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey, have embraced their role as parents, now raising two children.
"It took me a while to fully comprehend this, but it holds great significance, especially for new mothers like us," De La Hoyde, who got married to Massey in 2019 and has two children – son Freddie, born in December 2017, and daughter Delilah, born in July 2020 – shared with Grazia in March 2021. "Make an effort to listen to your body and adjust your pace according to your energy levels. Of course, there will be moments when your body craves rest but your baby doesn't allow it. However, whenever you have the fortunate opportunity of a few spare hours (which is quite rare, I acknowledge), ensure that you remain in tune with yourself so that you are rejuvenated when you truly need to be!"
The winners of Love Island UK season 2 are not the only former contestants of the show who have expanded their families after finding love on the Spanish villa. Camilla Thurlow and her partner Jamie Jewitt, who met during season 3 in 2017, welcomed their daughters Nell and Nora in October 2020 and May 2022, respectively.
In my sincere opinion, watching your little person grow up is an incredibly rewarding experience. The author of "Not the Type" expressed her delight about motherhood through an Instagram Story in July 2022. She acknowledged the societal pressure to enjoy the newborn phase, appreciating their sweetness and small size, but also acknowledged the challenges it brings. However, she assured her audience that things change sooner than one might expect and encouraged them to look forward to what lies ahead. She emphasized that it is not necessary to love every minute of motherhood and commended their efforts.
Several Love Island UK pairs may not have ended up together, but some of the show's alumni have started families with partners they met outside the villa. Dani Dyer, winner of season 4 alongside ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham in 2018, welcomed her son Santiago in January 2021 with her then-partner Sammy Kimmence.
"I was truly unprepared for the overwhelming surge of hormones, which proved to be quite challenging for me initially. I genuinely and earnestly faced difficulties," Dyer candidly shared with England’s Metro in April 2022. "Upon the arrival of Santi, I found myself incessantly comparing and constantly questioning, 'Why am I unable to breastfeed?' It was a sincere struggle for me, and I placed an immense amount of pressure on myself."
She went on, "In retrospect, I ought not to have indulged in such comparisons. Instead, I should have cherished the precious moments in my baby's world and embraced them wholeheartedly."
Dyer revealed in January 2023 that she and her boyfriend, Jarrod Bowen, whom they were first linked with two years ago, were anticipating the arrival of twins. The couple joyfully welcomed their daughters in May 2023.
Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, who secured the second spot during season 5, made the announcement in 2022 that they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child.
"I am eagerly anticipating the unforeseen adventures that lie ahead," exclaimed the creative director of Pretty Little Thing, who unveiled her pregnancy with a girl through an Instagram post in September. She delightedly shared snippets from their heartfelt speech during the finale of Love Island. In January 2023, their precious daughter, named Bambi, entered the world.

Bringing the love from the villa to the nursery! Love Island UK is dedicated to aiding British singles in finding their ideal partner, resulting in many individuals starting families with, or independently from, their fellow contestants.
Following their victory in season 2 of the popular British reality TV show, Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey have seamlessly transitioned into their new role as parents to two beautiful children.
"It took me some time to fully grasp the importance of this, especially as a new mother," De La Hoyde, who married Massey in 2019 and shares two children with him, son Freddie born in December 2017, and daughter Delilah born in July 2020, shared with Grazia in March 2021. "Pay attention to what your body is telling you and match your activity level accordingly. Of course, there will be occasions where your body craves rest but your baby has other plans. However, when you have a spare couple of hours (which is rare, I know), make sure you take the opportunity to recharge and stay in touch with your own energy levels so that you are fully rejuvenated when you really need to be."
The winners of Love Island UK season 2 are not the only former contestants to start a family after meeting on the show. Camilla Thurlow and her husband Jamie Jewitt, who met during season 3 in 2017, welcomed their daughters Nell in October 2020 and Nora in May 2022.
In my sincere opinion, the experience of witnessing your child's growth continuously improves, expressed the author of "Not the Type" through her Instagram Story in July 2022. Having married Jewitt in September 2021, she shared, "While there is a certain expectation to savor the newborn phase, with their adorableness and small size, there are also challenging aspects to it."
She further emphasized, "Time passes quickly, and things change sooner than you expect. I assure you, there is so much to anticipate, and you should never feel pressured to enjoy every moment. You are doing an exceptional job."
Several former contestants of Love Island UK have become parents with their partners whom they met outside of the show, even though not all of them found lasting love on the series. For instance, Dani Dyer, the winner of season 4 in 2018 alongside her ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham, welcomed her son Santiago in January 2021 with her then-partner Sammy Kimmence.
"I was completely unprepared for the overwhelming surge of hormones. It proved to be quite challenging for me in the initial stages, and I truly struggled," Dyer disclosed to England's Metro in April 2022. "When Santi was born, I couldn't help but constantly compare myself and wonder why I couldn't breastfeed. This became a significant struggle for me, and I placed an immense amount of pressure on myself."
She went on to say, "I should not have indulged in so many comparisons. Instead, I should have allowed myself to fully embrace the blissful experience of being in a motherhood bubble and simply gone with the flow."
Dyer made an announcement in January 2023 confirming that she and her boyfriend Jarrod Bowen, who had been romantically linked for two years prior, were expecting twins. Their twin daughters were born in May 2023.
Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, who came in second place during season 5, revealed in 2022 that they are anticipating the arrival of their first child.
"I am eagerly anticipating the unknown adventures that lie ahead," exclaimed the creative director of Pretty Little Thing, who later announced her pregnancy with a baby girl, on Instagram in September. She joyfully shared clips from their final speech at the Love Island finale.
Their precious daughter, Bambi, entered the world in January 2023.
