Content: Supermodels who have earned fame on the runway have also managed to find a harmonious balance between their professional pursuits and their roles as mothers. One notable example is Gigi Hadid, who entered motherhood in September 2020 with the birth of her daughter Khai alongside her then-partner Zayn Malik. (Hadid and the former member of One Direction had an on-and-off relationship that eventually ended in October 2021.)
“She is constantly observant, always eager to learn and always vigilant. She is truly remarkable," stated Hadid, a professional model since her early childhood, during an interview with InStyle in February 2022. "It's truly remarkable. Many of my friends who are also mothers feel the same way, as we are approaching the first few years with our children. We are completely infatuated with them, but sometimes we are taken aback and wonder where they came from. ... My friends and I only discuss topics like babies, sleep, and finding leak-proof bottles. One of them recently asked, 'Hey, do you ever want to have a meal without the kids?' I enthusiastically replied, 'Yes, let's go, girl!'"
According to Tan France, cohost of the show Next in Fashion, Hadid is already an exceptional mother to her daughter Khai.
“I received a lot of valuable advice from her [about my son Ismail],” shared the Queer Eye personality with Us in May 2022, referring to his beloved child who entered the world the previous August. “She became a mother before I even became a parent, seven months ahead [of my son's birth]. She was the first person to send me a thoughtful care package with all the essential items for my baby. It was incredibly heartwarming.”
Ashley Graham, on the other hand, takes immense pride in being a mother of three. Hailing from Nebraska, she has a son named Isaac, born in January 2020, as well as twin sons named Malachi and Roman, born in January 2022, with her husband Justin Ervin.
"I've always heard that with a second child, you experience a lot more fatigue and show signs of pregnancy faster," Graham revealed to Entertainment Tonight in August 2021 while discussing her second pregnancy. "And it's true. I seemed to have popped out noticeably earlier this time around. Balancing the demands of caring for a toddler while being pregnant has left me feeling exhausted. So, yes, all the typical things you hear about are happening."
She went on to say, "With my first child, Isaac, I feel like I prepared excessively, maybe even overly so. This time, I'm focused on ensuring I have the necessary supplies, which essentially means very little. I just glance at my breasts and think, 'Alright, check, check. We've got this. We just need some newborn diapers. Check, check.'"
Hadid and the host of the "Pretty Big Deal" podcast are not the only model mothers. Tyra Banks became a mother to son York in January 2016 through a surrogate. She shares him with her ex-boyfriend Erik Asla.
In March 2020, the exclusive interview with We, the host of Dancing With the Stars revealed her efforts to teach her son positive messages. As his primary role model in terms of beauty and embracing diversity in women, she constantly practices these values at home. She expressed her proactive approach by saying, "I'm already saying things to him."
Banks explained, "For example, when I come home, I remove my wig. The other day, my child said, 'Mommy, I think you look beautiful and prettier when you wear your hair.' So, I asked, 'How do I look without my hair?' And my child responded, 'Um, I don't know.' I further questioned, 'Take a real look at Mommy. Do you think she only looks good with her hair?' To my surprise, my child replied, 'Mommy, you look good both with your hair on and without it.'"

She went on to say, "I feel like I put in so much effort in preparing for Isaac, maybe even to the point of overdoing it. Right now, I'm just ensuring that I have everything I need, which is essentially nothing. I just look at my breasts and think, 'Okay, check, check. We're good to go. I just need some newborn diapers, check, check.'"

Banks further explained, "For instance, when I return home, I remove my wig. The other day, he commented, 'Mommy, I really like you and you look so pretty when you put your hair on.' I responded by asking, 'How do I look without my hair?' He hesitated and said, 'Um, I don't know.' I then urged him to truly examine me and questioned, 'Do you believe that I only look good with my hair on?' His response warmed my heart as he replied, 'Mommy, you look good with your hair on and with your hair off.'"
