From Chief Marketing Officer to CEO: Ottokar Rosenberger Takes the Helm at Rated People

After serving as the commercial director of Rated People 15 years ago, Ottokar Rosenberger is making a comeback as the new CEO of the company. When Rosenberger first joined the online tradesperson marketplace in 2008, it was still in its early stages, with him being one of only 11 employees. He wasted no time in implementing a variety of commercial initiatives, which have since become fundamental to the business.

Rosenberger tells Our Website that building the brand, PR, paid search, SEO, commercial proposition, consumer proposition, and rating system was essential. He also highlights the opportunity to work in the "entrepreneurial" world as a key driver in his career progression. Returning to the company now, he sees it as a chance to expand on his previous efforts and take the company further. Despite its significant growth since he left, having insight into what makes it successful is a major advantage, he concludes.

Describing the business as close to his heart, Rosenberger expresses excitement in leading it forward in its next stage of development. Adrienne Minster, the current CEO of Rated People, is going on maternity leave.

Rosenberger's career began at Procter & Gamble, followed by marketing roles at BT, Rated People, eHarmony, and Betfair. He then took on the position of CMO at travel company Hostelworld Group. As an entrepreneur, he eventually became CEO of Dreamlines, a German travel agency, successfully navigating the company through the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since leaving that role in August 2022, Rosenberger has dedicated the past 10 months to pursuing a coaching accreditation. This endeavor has not only helped him develop as a leader, but also provided valuable insights into his own strengths and weaknesses.

According to Rosenberger, his return to Rated People serves as a testament to the importance of maintaining relationships even after leaving a company. He emphasizes the need to leave on good terms and ensure that the company is in a better state than when you first joined. This approach has made a lasting impression on both individuals and businesses, and it is what ultimately led to his reemployment at Rated People.

Rosenberger starts in the role tomorrow. Our Website will have a full profile of his career to-date in an upcoming Story of my CV article.
