Fortnite's Upcoming Update Takes Players Back to Chapter 1 with Sprinting and Mantling Intact

Prepare for a thrilling Fortnite update as Epic hits rewind, taking players back to Chapter 1 while retaining beloved features like sprinting and mantling

Epic Games has confirmed the rumors that the original map of the popular battle royale game Fortnite will make a return in the next major update, taking players "back to Chapter 1." The update is set to release on November 3, as indicated by Epic's social media post featuring the hashtag #FortniteOG, referencing the early days of the game.

Addressing recent speculation, Epic's tweet also assures players that they can still "sprint (or mantle, your choice) back to Chapter 1," suggesting that the claims about removing sprinting and mantling are false. Prior to this announcement, Epic's CEO Mark Rein shared a not-so-cryptic message on social media, stating, "My word for the next season of Fortnite is: rewind."

For quite some time, there have been strong rumors suggesting that the upcoming update will reintroduce players to a fresh rendition of the battle royale map seen in Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 5.

Recent headlines have been dominated by the actions of Epic Games and Fortnite, particularly their decision to downsize their workforce by approximately 900 employees and implement price hikes for V-Bucks.

Epic CEO and founder, Tim Sweeney, acknowledged that Epic is spending more money than they are earning. He admitted that it was unrealistic to believe that Epic could navigate this situation without resorting to layoffs.

Sweeney further explained that although Fortnite's growth is resurfacing, it is largely driven by creator content and involves significant revenue sharing. This type of business yields lower profit margins compared to when Fortnite Battle Royale initially took off and funded their expansion. He emphasized that while succeeding in the creator ecosystem is commendable, it necessitates a significant overhaul in their economic structure.

Epic also published the recently released horror game Alan Wake II, which is out today and is getting rave reviews, including a 10/10 from Our Website.
