At the time of writing, Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, has made the decision to return to the original island for the latest OG season. This move is proving to have been the correct choice, as the game's peak player count today, November 3, has reached over 3.9 million players. This is a new record for Fortnite since Epic began displaying player counts within the game in March, according to Fortnite.GG. Additionally, throughout the day, Twitch viewership numbers for the battle royale game have consistently remained above 600,000 viewers.

Fortnite OG has made its debut today, drawing inspiration from Chapter 1, Season 5, which was originally launched on July 12, 2018. This entails the inclusion of the assault rifle and pump shotgun, as well as beloved locations such as Tilted Towers and Paradise Palms. A week from now, on November 9, the upcoming season will receive an update based on Chapter 1, Season 6.

For quite some time, players have been eagerly yearning for a return to Fortnite's Chapter 1 map, and the OG season fulfills that longing. However, its duration is expected to be short-lived, as this season is slated to last for merely a month.

Editor's P/S

As a Gen Z fan, I am thrilled about the return of Fortnite's OG Season 2. The nostalgia factor is off the charts, and it's amazing to experience the game the way it was back in 2018. Tilted Towers is one of my favorite locations, and I'm so glad it's back. I've been having a blast playing the new season, and I can't wait to see what else Epic Games has in store for us.

However, I'm a bit disappointed that the OG season is only going to last for a month. I wish it could be longer, but I understand that Epic Games wants to keep the game fresh. I'm hoping that they'll bring back the OG season again in the future. In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.
