Jon Cryer and April Bowlby, both known for their roles in Two and a Half Men, have come together once again in support of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Cryer, who portrayed Alan Harper throughout the sitcom's entire 262 episodes, was joined by Bowlby, who appeared as Kandi in 17 episodes. Kandi's character was initially introduced as Charlie Harper's girlfriend and later married Alan before their eventual divorce. Cryer took to his official Twitter account to share a photo from the picket lines, where members of the Screen Actors Guild are demanding fair compensation and regulations regarding the use of artificial intelligence.
Cryer's post includes a picture of himself arm-in-arm with Bowlby. The caption reads "Alan and Kandi reunited many years later to BRING DOWN THE CORPORATE FATCATS!"
This Two and a Half Men Reunion Was a Long Time Coming
Bowlby and Cryer's onscreen reunion has yet to happen since the conclusion of Two and a Half Men in 2015. The closest they came was during a "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, where Cryer played the infamous supervillain Lex Luthor. Bowlby made a brief uncredited appearance as her Doom Patrol character, Rita Farr, however, there was no interaction between the two.
Despite not reuniting on screen, both actors have enjoyed successful careers since Two and a Half Men, especially in their superhero roles. Cryer, known for his portrayal of Lex Luthor on Supergirl, has also appeared in shows like The Kominsky Method and Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television. Bowlby has showcased her talent in The Big Bang Theory, Heathers, and Tacoma FD.
Given the circumstances, it is fitting for the Two and a Half Men stars to honor their iconic roles while participating in the SAG-AFTRA strike. The strike, organized by union members to halt productions worldwide, aims to emphasize the value of actors' work in shaping the entertainment industry's future. By referencing their successful TV series, they are highlighting their ability to captivate audiences and generate substantial revenue.
