Korra Obidi, a former contestant on So You Think You Can Dance, reportedly experienced a terrifying incident in London.
In a post on Instagram on Thursday, April 11, the 32-year-old shared that she was currently being taken to the hospital in an ambulance. She revealed that she had been attacked with a knife and acid during a live stream, later confirming that she had been stabbed. Obidi expressed that while she has faced hate in the past, this physical assault served as a wake-up call for her.
Obidi, who was a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance in 2019, shared a video she recorded right after the incident. In the video, Obidi asked people on the street for water and was given a bottle of soda instead. She used the soda to rinse her eyes, trying to wash away the acid, and struggled to breathe.
In a later video on her Instagram Story, Obidi was shown wrapped in a towel while a man, whose identity was not disclosed, called for emergency help. The man mentioned that the person who attacked Obidi had taken her phone, but Obidi clarified that she was able to get it back.
Obidi has denied fabricating the incident for attention after releasing her new single, "Outsider."
In an Instagram video posted on Friday, April 12, she stated, "I promise you, I don't need that kind of attention. It's not a big deal for me. I just want to sing and dance; I love people and I love to perform. What happened yesterday, I managed to get out of it in the best way possible."

Obidi shared that she sustained minor injuries that resulted in visible scars on her nose and leg, along with some bruises.
"I'm feeling really shaken up," Obidi mentioned on Friday. "I'm still in disbelief and my hands are trembling. But, that's all folks. This is the most positive outcome that could have occurred, and I'm thankful to God that it wasn't any worse."

An investigation is currently underway, and Obidi is optimistic that the person behind all these attacks will be identified.
"I have been quietly enduring the pain of divorce for 2 years," she shared on Friday. "I am relieved that this incident was captured live with plenty of evidence. I don't want to wait for things to escalate before receiving the help I need."
The performer was previously married to Justin Dean, with whom she shares two children, before they split in 2022.
